I still can't get over the fact that Lee Majdoub isn't a well known actor...

Headcanon that Edward Kenway is really good at picking up languages. He’s not really fluent in any except English and whatever the main languages of his favorite people are, but really helps with a pirate crew who probably has people that don’t know English.

However, you would never know this because his accent is so thick that he’s absolute unintelligible when he’s speaking anything other than English. He can understand basically anyone just fine but the moment he opens his mouth the entire crew turns to Adewale to translate.
