Life drawing | Week 11
Model: Socrates
The gestural drawings don’t look every gestural but it was hard to find the curves on a male figure. On the second structural pose, the folded leg looks a bit small but I like the rendering on it.
It was a nice change to have breaks and critiques within the 40 minutes for the long pose. My first sketch was completely off as the torso was way too short. Likely a peer picked that up and I could rectify it before it got too bad. The thigh on the long pose is a bit too thick and the arm is a bit funky. Otherwise, I really like it.
I’m sad that this is the last life drawing class. Thank you for giving me this opportunity!
Note: Three gestural poses | Two structural poses | One long pose
Life drawing | Week 10
Model: Lorena
I really like the crouching gestural pose. I think I have improved in my rendering though/
I was having trouble with the first long pose so I didn’t get much done.
As you can probably guess, the head didn’t happen on the last pose. Getting the twist of the body was rather difficult and I tried to render in the twist of the muscles. I’m not quite sure if it worked or not. The foreshortening on the arm looks a bit weird too.
Note: Seven gestural poses | Two structural poses | Two long poses
Assessment 2 | Life Drawing and Character Animation Studies
Part A | Human Figure Drawing
Must include:
Five gestural drawings
Three structural drawings
Two long poses
Part B | Human Movement, Action, and Acting
Must include:
Head turn reaction
Weight Lift
Choreographed action or dance sequence
The last task was a bit of a mess due to my absence. Hopefully, things are better this time.
Life Drawing | Week 9
Model: David
I ran out of butchers paper from art shed so I grabbed some from Kmart. The new paper is different and rather coarse and it makes it harder to rub out the charcoal with my hand. I’ll have to learn how to work with this paper until I find time to go get some more.
I forgot to fix the arm on the seconded crouched pose.
The head, sigh, the lips especially, was exceedingly difficult.
Note: Two sets of lifting drawings | One head | One structural pose
Life Drawing | Week 8
Model: Kat
I was so happy to start life drawing again but I was definitely rusty. All my drawings seem rather blocky and stiff. I will have to put the rhythms and curves back into it once I get my hand to cooperate again.
I really liked the final pose (I think I accidentally whispered that out loud. I hope she didn’t hear me...).
Note: Six gestural poses | Two structural poses | One long pose
