House of the Dragon officially came out today in the UK and (yesterday) in the US and it’s the first thing I’ve worked on that’s come out so I’m kinda buzzing about it. I got to work on it for 3 months and it was one of the most amazing experiences! I hope you all enjoy the show!
When scheduling in MMS, how do I go about splitting a scene? For example, what if most shots in Sc. 1 are main unit, but I have a single shot that's a quick insert not requiring any talent and I want to shoot that later/elsewhere.
Just make another strip (can hit add sheet or duplicate sheet if it shares the same elements) and then part out the scene. So Sc. 122 becomes Sc. 122pt1 and 122.pt2 and move the part two to where you need it on the schedule.
Stepped up today at work and felt like I contributed to the actual filmmaking side of things instead of just looking after the cast. Nervewracking, but also exciting!

Assistant Directors Training Program - A Competitive Internship
An executive producer at Heliopolis Entertainment in California, David Nicksay has pursued a film career that includes working on films such as Pitch Perfect 3, Birth of the Dragon, and Walking with Dinosaurs 3D. Prior to establishing his career, David Nicksay studied with the Assistant Directors Training Program administered by the Directors Guild of America (DGA). The Assistant Directors Training Program provides candidates with the necessary training and experience to become second assistant directors. Candidates receive on-the-job training through paid internships with actual film and television projects and attend a series of seminars that review various aspects of the film industry. Furthermore, trainees who complete program requirements at a satisfactory level will receive an invitation to join the DGA. In order to participate in the program, candidates must compete for a limited number of spots and complete a lengthy application process. Candidates must possess prior involvement in the film community either through a degree, internship, volunteer work, or experience working behind the scenes. The DGA administers the program in California (the West Coast Program) and New York. Application dates and requirements may differ between the two programs, so candidates must apply to the exact program they wish to attend.
