Re Daesung applying for the Assistant Instructor post: if true, i think, maybe someone superior suggested it to him? And maybe, since his older sister is an army officer, why not try it (if she can do it, maybe he can too)? If he really was indeed promoted, I am so proud of him. He is physically strong, we've witness how strong-willed he is, and (although he might have showed the opposite, most of time) he is brave... So, I am not surprised that they gave him the position. :-) <3

As you said I too certanly believe that Daesung is capable of anything (this man gives 10000% even when asked for simple things!). Physically strong, diligent, reliable, punctual and well behaved: the perfect characteristics for any military man! 

But let me also add few more traits: humbleness, privacy, self-effacement! He’s not someone who likes to attract attention on himself (if it’s not on stage or with close friends…) and, even if I don’t know much about it, this position is certanly different from the one of a common soldier. From my outsider point of view I thought he would have preferred a basic role away from indesceets eyes. 

I’m not surprised he got choosen, if it’s true, but that he “personally applied for it”. As you said, maybe a superior suggested/gently forced him to apply for this role. We know a sassy Daesung but I feel like he’s the type of person who can’t say no if someone in a higher position than him asks for something (he would feel out of place, unsuited and burdened but gives, once again, his 30000% to make things work for the best, even if it means a lot of self-sacrifices!). Having a soldier sister surely has given him a proper knowledge of the military life and its “behind the scene” maybe…but more than that…I don’t know!

As always my mind could have just went a little too far: maybe this role is not as big/relevant/burdening as I thought! I tried to fill my lacking knowledge about this matter but for now I couldn’t find many info about what it means to be an Assistant Instructor in the korean army: what do they materially have to do? In my hands I only have a list of other celebrities who got elected for the same role in their division: Jiyong -even if just suggested-, Chun Jun Myung, Joo Won, Yoo Seung Ho, Hyun Bin, Kwon Sang Woo, Lee Si Eon, Wheesung, Rain…
