How long do you think they spent trying to come up with a photo to illustrate the idea of speaking Spanish, and how good a job do you think they did? To me the image is so stupid they get some points for concept but lose some because the letter cloud doesn’t actually have any Spanish-specific characters like Ñ or ¿

Inside this ball of twine is a mysterious object unknown to the artist. When creating this “assisted Readymade,” Duchamp asked his friend and patron, Walter Arensberg, to put something inside the ball of twine without sharing what it was. If shaken, the object rattles, thus the title, “With Hidden Noise.”

Duchamp added pencil, paint, and cardboard to this tin advertisement to create what he called an “assisted readymade.” Look closely and you can see his delicate pencil drawing of the little girl’s reflection in the mirror.
