Development in Mac Groveland - 3/25

As it gets warmer, and people emerge from their homes after a long cold winter, residents of Mac Groveland will find development all around in the neighborhood...

* In a previous post, I covered French Meadow on Grand Ave's opening.  I was driving today and drove through the alley behind French Meadow and found construction crews working behind French Meadow's building.  It appears that French Meadow is expediting construction of a patio to further expand seating options for the coming spring and summer.

* Word on the street is that Grand Hair and Beyond, the hair salon located next to Ace Hardware on Grand Ave. will be closing soon.  The owners apparently have decided to close their salon.  Macalester is also the new owner of the building.  Now comes the speculation of what will occupy that space...

* Construction on the new Associated Bank at Snelling and Dayton is underway with structural steel now being erected.  It appears the new bank will be very urban in nature, with a glass front - a huge improvement over the wood-cladded building it currently occupies.
