Reading: I am currently very slowly making my way through The Ethical Slut by Janet Hardy and Dossie Easton which was a help-I'm-new-to-polyamory purchase from this summer; the drive to finish it has waned as I've gotten more secure in that which is probably a good thing. Next on the docket is probably either the first book of The Murderbot Diaries or a re-read of Wicked followed by a first-time read of all its sequels which I was gifted for Christmas.

Last Series: Similarly I am also slowly making my way through Heated Rivalry, made slower by the fact that I am watching with my partner and we are splitting our time between that, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Supernatural.

Last Movie: Oh god, I don't watch a lot of movies. Probably it was The Grinch (with Jim Carrey) with my housemates before the holidays?

Last Song: Currently playing the Simplest Words, last played the library at the very bottom of this place, both by The Narcissist Cookbook. There's a Marc edit to the first verse of the latter in my head that I may or may not actually make someday.

Sweet or Salty: I'm a salty-savory kind of guy; I like sweet things but I find they tend to get very cloying very quickly for me.

Coffee or Tea: Coffee for sure, I'm more a fan of iced coffees & mochas but I will drink almost any kind of coffee if I need a caffeine fix. I very much want to be a tea guy but I'm just not unfortunately, there is one (1) kind of tea I will tolerate when I'm sick and that's it.

Working On: Fic-wise things have been fallow for months (thank you, depressive episode that consumed last fall), I am just now starting to get any kind of writing mojo back at all. There is a lucabeznaia polycule AU that exists in my head and I'm continually shaking Pecco like a chewtoy; some of that may make it on paper someday but I'm not going to push it.

Otherwise I'm mostly bracing for the start of a new semester; I'm at the point of my PhD where I've stopped teaching so most of my time will go to research now, which is both exciting and also means a Lot of mostly unstructured time which I historically do not handle great. I'm also about a week into the process of getting a sourdough starter going from some dried starter, but I don't have much to show for it besides some biscuits made with the discard.

Evening everyone ✨ just got a quick question to ask!

When reading smut what's a word that absolutely puts you off of reading it? Like, the word just either makes you laugh or makes you cringe and completely ruins your reading experience of a piece.

Just asking as I wanted to extend my vocab and avoid potential words that give others the ick! Especially since I want to write and post stuff for thirsty thursday again :)

For example! Here are some two words that don't particularly like:

Cunny - genuinely, if I ever read it in a piece I cringe as it gives me such an icky feeling reading it...

if I have to read "[...] little cunny" in a sentence one more time I'm gonna sob so hard that I'll flood Fontaine worser than Neuvillette do NOT test me on this!

Rod/Stick/Meat - This one just makes me cackling like a witch if anything and I've only ever read a mixture of these words in a handful of fics

So if you could comment that would be amazing and very helpful!

As much as I've been enjoying seeing Sova in the cinematics and hearing him in the voicemails, it would be nice to actually see him speaking with someone and showing emotion in a cinematic (the warm up cinematic did have him showing emotion but still)

Okay, but listen. I don't know what Riot is planning to do with Sova, since the fandom seems to have already established his fanon - somewhat of an older brother figure, kind but with an edge, mostly peaceful but will cause shit should his need for revenge makes an appearance.

I would love if the canon would follow this particular direction, but I personally think it won't happen. The only person Sova seems to have any attachment to is Brimstone. Idk what happened to make them bond so hard, but they literally refer to Sova as Brimstones "golden boy."

And yes, I want to see this man fully animated and in focus for more than a few seconds. We haven't really seen him interact with anyone besides Brim and for the love of ffffff I want more of his backstory.
