I need people to make the difference between Astraea/Astrea/Astria; ‘Virgin goddess of innocence and purity, daughter of Astraeus and Eos’ and Asteria; ‘daughter of Coeus and Phoebe, sister of Leto, mother of Hecate’
Asterie’s eye was closed when Somnium appeared behind her. “Good evening,” He greeted, wings swooping behind him and tucking themselves neatly along his back. “I’ve come to discuss something with you.”
“And what would that be?” She opened her eye, which was a startling collection of blues and cloudy pinks. Somnium didn’t flinch. Of course he didn’t. He was her brother and had seen her sunset a thousand times over.
“I wish to give up my immortality and become human.”
Asterie remained wordless, a silent invitation for him to continue.
“I’ve found Feu again. I didn’t expect to, this century. I thought it would have been last century, so I… I gave up searching. And I was just taking away a nightmare- and she was there, Starry. Nearly as I remembered. And I talked to her the next day- And she was the same girl I’d fallen for three hundred years ago.
“I’ve never spoken to someone reincarnated before. I didn’t expect her to be so exactly the same as she was. And- And I love her, Starry. I do. And I can’t bear to part with her again.” He laughed for a moment, and Asterie couldn’t help but stare at him. She’d known him for thousands of years and never had he laughed so truly. “I’d like to become human for her. As a totem of respect for how she’s changed me. I don’t miss the god I used to be.” Somnium turned to look at her, a smile crossing his face. Asterie found it startling when his eyes were not the solid black she knew them to be and instead were a deep brown, closely resembling a human’s eyes.
“Who will run the Dream?” At that, his smile turned into something soft, loving. “Do you remember how Incubi was born out of my hatred for a mortal?” Asterie nodded. “It happened again. I have something of a son. He likes to call himself Mervielle.”
“Miracle.”
“Indeed. He has assured me that he will walk the Dream and carry on as I would have. I think he’ll do well.”
Asterie nodded. “I’m sure he will. I’ll miss you, Somnium.” Her brother smiled and his wings dissolved into a fine mist. “And I you, Asterie. Although, I suppose that I’ll see you in the span of a human lifetime.” He chuckled, shoulders shaking lightly. Asterie did not laugh. “Yes. I suppose you will.”
When the color faded from her brother’s hair and he was left looking relatively mortal, she let herself smile and the moon began to peek over the top of the world. “Goodbye, Somnium.”
“Bye, Starry.”
Asterie was left to watch her Moon rise. It was quiet for the first time in a while. She could already see Mervielle walking through the Dream. He resembled his father plenty. Asterie could imagine the sibling rivalry that would come about when Incubi learned of her brother. A shame that their father was mortal now and couldn’t order them around. Asterie would have to take his place for the time being.
The most unfortunate thing about Somnium’s departure, however, was not the absence of a father in his children’s lives. They would be fine- they were gods. The most unfortunate thing was that Asterie hadn’t had the heart to tell him that if it weren’t for her intervention, Feu would have been reborn in Greece to doting parents. Instead, she had placed her with Frontida and Ftero, the latter of which she regretted, and let the world run its course.
Perhaps when Somnium came to see her again, she would tell him.
For now, Asterie let the moon rise.

I hate it when the character with the best name of the series is also the most hateable. Not necessarily the villain, just the one you want to punch in the face, but at the same time, you utterly adore their name.
