“Long answer: I would sooner slap a Soulfang Serpent than Runaan. Which tells you the result of that action if I even get past his assassin reflexes.”
“If anyone even suggests slapping my daw’ alqamar I will sooner punch them in the face instead. How dare you even ask.”
“Not even at her most annoying would I slap Astil.”
“...although...for 100 in (currency) it might be worth it when it comes to Runaan~” He’s joking, of course...mostly. “Hm...maybe less”
"Aaravos.." Astil walked into the study, holding a soft blanket against her shoulders. She had been here a month or so now, it was hard to tell... she had adjusted, even chosen a favorite blanket and found comfortable makeshift night clothes, but currently she was far from comfortable. The stars on her body hardly glowed, flickering faintly every passing moment, she shivered a little from cold that didn't exist, and bags beneath her eyes revealed the issue. "How do you use dream magic?" ~Astil
Aaravos was dozing at his desk, his chin propped on his hand. He started at the sound of his name, and it took a long moment for her words to penetrate as he blinked at her. “Oh. Dreams?” He blinked again, then nodded understanding. “To begin with, there’s a spell for dreamless sleep which you might like.” His sympathetic gaze tracked over her shadowed eyes and her hand wrapped in the blanket. “Using it would do you some good, I think.”

“Astil...she is a Startouch elf like myself, though much younger. Our first meeting was in my prison, you know the one...she was my companion for a short time in there, where I taught her magic because the fools in charge at the time were restricting it severely.
“It was a death sentence to be caught doing such things, according to Astil...which was all the more reason to teach her, myself. And I’m glad I did. Though my goal was to have her help break the lock on the prison (metaphorically speaking) what happened instead was still a better result than I could have possibly imagined.
“When I next saw her she was the leader of the Startouch elves! Changing many of our stupid restrictions and ways of life. She has been trying to also clear my name among our people last I heard...which I appreciate. I may actually be able to go back for a casual visit now.
“Let’s see...what else...
“If I had to give her a label, I would say she is as close as I have had to a younger sister or sibling in general. Annoying at times, very stubborn and sometimes frustrations would prevent her from listening to my instruction while I was teaching her...though she has matured more over the years after she returned home.
“But she is, at the end of the day, one of the few I feel very fond toward...she is a part of my small, but cherished family...and I will kill any who attempt harm on any of them.
“Not that it needs to be said, but you never know who could be listening...”
