ASTOR ACADEMY invites you to the ALL HALLOWS’ FEST

Be a part of the three-week-long celebration filled with frightful entertainment and activities coordinated by the Student Government of Astor! The student leaders have outdone themselves by ensuring the Halloween Season won’t be a boring one for their fellow classmates, organizing a fun variety of booths and stalls around campus grounds for everyone to check out and planning exciting events each week as a way to keep everyone on their toes (and get their noses out of their books). And for the Halloween Proper, October 31st, a masquerade ball! 

Despite of what happened to the East Wing dining hall, the annual All Hallows’ Fest will still push through, but the administration would like the student body to keep some things in mind to make sure of their safety. The investigation has been put to a halt, and Arthur Astor has, instead, focus on keeping the student body of Astor Academy from harm. More cameras have been installed around campus for extra security, and the faculty and staff of the Academy are all doing their part to ensure that nothing like what happened at the dining hall will ever happen again. 

The All Hallows’ Fest will surely be a blast, and this year, we’re doing something a little different. Just like times passed, there will be booths all over the campus grounds that should operate from 7-9 PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and on Saturdays, the week’s main attraction! There will be a new attraction every week and we’ll have the schedule posted below!

So this is a event but it’s not like an official official event where other threads non-related will be put on hold. It’ll just be like regular days at Astor Academy, but with this month-long fest going on! We can all begin writing about the fest “officially starting” by next week, Wednesday (May 20, 2020)!

Astor Academy welcomes you home, Astor’s Beloved!

Invitations were sent out, RSVPs were responded to, deliveries for the preparations began. One of the most upheld traditions of Astor Academy is welcoming back the people who once spent their time walking down the corridors as students. This year’s Alumni night is hosted by Astor’s very own batch of ‘97, and, just like every year, things are looking to be as grand as always. No expenses spared for the homecoming of the Astorians! 

Date: July 3, 2020  Duration: 1 week Details:

For the duration of this event, players are to write older characters (35+). They will be alums from Astor Academy who have come for the annual alumni dinner hosted at the academy.

Players may choose to write more than one character for the event, granted that one of those characters be POC.

You may play your main character’s parent or relative, but you may also not. It’s up to you! We’d love to see whoever you come up with!

Interactions between main characters and alums may also take place. After all, there will be some students who will be assigned as ushers/usherettes! So you can definitely plot that out so that your main character could have an interaction with your alum character, or someone else’s alum character!

We won’t be requiring you guys to write full fleshed out bios. Just some bullet points of info so that others can get to know them as well! And we definitely encourage plotting, because surely there characters will have some history with each other!

Threads not related to this event do not have to be out on hold, but we do encourage everyone to write starters as their Alumni Night characters.

Please send in your character’s names and face claim so that we can compile a list.

It was completely ruined, tables broken, vases shattered, he could even see scratches on the walls and the stains and residues of paint that the administration tried so desperately to clean. It was the rummage of complete chaos, and honestly, Kingston was upset he couldn’t see it happen. The Arsonists, that was their name, and to be quite fair, Kingston wanted to applaud them. Their work was thorough.

He heard that student’s were called, a lot of their names being revealed through the whisper’s of his classmates, and from what he had collected, they were all upperclassmen, or at least that was what was speculated, rumored to be true. It was intriguing to say the least, this whole fiasco, and how insane the administration was acting in response. He read in the school’s old records that this had happened before, that the Arsonists had happened before, and frankly, he wanted to applaud them for doing this again. Frankly, as he looked through the windows of the dining hall and onto the soiled and completely disheveled area within it, he couldn’t help but smile.

“Student’s are not allowed onto this perimeter.” Kingston sighed as he heard the voice of a probably administration member. He moved the farthest pawn to his right two spots forward.

“I am sorry, sir.” He apologized, turning around to see a man in his late-fifties staring at him sternly, and to that he tilted his head down and gave a look of sincere, well, as sincere as he could get, apology, before shrugging back towards the dining room. His rook moved forward out of its space. “I genuinely cannot believe anyone would do this,I’ve never heard something like this happen at Astor.” His bishop took away one of the man’s pieces. Of course he did, everyone did, but he hoped his tone of genuine confusion and shock was convincing enough to give him a slight pass. “I hope that the administration can find the culprits to this as soon as possible, I know that you have already taken action.” The bishop took the queen, and the man’s king made no attempt to move. No, he didn’t: this was far too entertaining.

The administration member gave him a stiff nod. Kingston’s rook somehow managed to angle itself directly in front of the king. He moved forward, the bishop would take him, he moved to the right, Kingston had a pawn already in place. “Yes. Now, never come here again until the administration says it is clear.”

“Yes, sir.” The king was captured, and Kingston walked away from the dining hall, his head tilted away from the administration member as he started to head back towards his dorm. As he was walking, he couldn’t stop the smile that was forming on his face at the thought of what had occured, of who had done it. To the school, it was a huge crime. To Kingston, this was his new form of entertainment.

Camp Night was the last place Daniel wanted to be at that evening. He wasn't in the best mood and, to add to that, there was a ringing in his ear that was caused by a barely unbearable headache. No, he really didn't want to be at that camp. What he wanted to do was stay in his room, watch a movie he'd already watched in the hopes that it'll help him get some sleep. But, alas, that couldn't be. He'd given his commitment to a friend in the Business department who was one of the people who organized the whole Camp Night that he would help out, and Daniel being Daniel, he couldn't go back on his word. If he did, what would that say about him? So there he was, standing by the bonfire, some sort of juice in the red solo cup he had in his hand. He texted both Florian and Vera in the hopes that they, too, would show up, but at that moment, he was by his lonesome. He didn't even really notice the person next to him as he thought out loud, "They sure are enjoying themselves," referring to one of the groups by one of the tents, laughing a little too loudly for Daniel's liking.

The camp night is a recent addition to the All Hallows’ Fest activities; a night wherein students are encouraged to spend their time in the Forests, eating s’mores, drinking hot cocoas, and sharing scary stories around a bonfire. The Business department has set up tents so that students who wish to stay overnight, or even just for a few hours, may do so for only two dollars per head! If tents are not your thing, don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of spaces for you to just sit and have a spook-tacular time! And if, like a certain Disney character we all know and love, the cold won’t bother you, you may definitely jump into the lake for an evening swim! A little bit of warning, though, it is freezing, and we really wouldn’t suggest it unless you have skin made of iron. But if it’s not, don’t worry! There’ll be plenty of things for you to do, and we hear one of the members of the Astor choir will be bringing with her a guitar so we can all have some good live music. So, don’t miss out! See you at Camp Astor!

The camp night is one of the main attractions during the month-long All Hallows’ Eve fest, and in line with this will be our second plot drop! During the event, one of the camping tents will catch fire, and this will result to a few of the students getting injured, one of those students being the grand niece of none other than Arthur Astor himself. Who caused the “accident” will be unknown to the students, but it will be two Arsonists (Fleur Hong & Maggie Amano). and the rest of the Arsonists wouldn’t know during that time that they are the ones responsible. If you wish for your character to be one of the casualties, feel free to do so, and also feel free to incorporate this plot drop in any of your current event-related threads!
