A Smudge of Mischief
It hadn’t been more than about two days since the tears and the hugs, and things were starting to feel normal again, although this time there was a lighter air around Astrid. Like a heavy weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
She was busy listening to one of Shade’s lessons again, when suddenly the Sailor Moon theme song would start playing loudly. Her face turning red, she mumbled a “My bad one sec” before digging into her book bag, pulling out a cell. “It’s granny.”
“Hey, granny- what’s up?”
“It’s that bad? Maybe I could take a taxi- you want me to what?”
“I don’t know if he’ll even- okay, I’ll ask him.”
Sheepishly she looked up at Shade. “I... apparently it’s snowing pretty bad back at Ruby, and granny might not be able to drive me safely back home. She, well she kinda wants me to ask you if I could-” Astrid sighed, feeling silly.
“If I could stay the night?”
