Carl Jung used astrological insights into the foundational myths and collective psyche... "Astrology has actually nothing to do with the stars, but is the 5000 year old psychology of antiquity and the Middle Ages..." This is the first work (play, really!) I've attempted on vellum (British calfskin) for decades, probably. Fortunately, it keeps pretty well :-) Indeed, as a vegetarian, I have some ethical dissonance in using it. However I do to honor the life which created it. My visit to the Newberry Library reminded me how beautiful a manuscript on this ancient writing surface can be. And there is simply no writing experience that can match it. Unfinished... but the far edge of the skin needs a bit of further preparation.
