Pros and cons of neptune square ascendant?

Neptune on the ascendant is a tough one.Delusion is a big aspect here since Neptune rules altered states of mind, fantasy, illusions, dreams, dream-states etc. Reality may be hard to reconcile and there’s this mist that surrounds how you see yourself and even how you see others. Can be impressionable which may cause the native to be easily deceived. The native will have to be hyper-aware to use the rational mind and not their feelings. What is tangible not what they want to see. [Not being judgmental here, boo–I have a shot of Neptune in my chart, it squares my Venus. I hate it. ] Naivety is also a big factor for the native with a Neptune squaring their first house. You have to remember Neptune is Poseidon’s Roman counterpart… God of the sea. The Ocean is the most unexplored part of our world. Lots of mystery there. Hard to see what’s beneath if that analogy helps. Neptune as well is a beautiful planet, it rains diamonds but the gas surrounding it is methane [Farts]. Not very pleasant even though it looks appealing. The same can be said for how a native with the square sees life. There’s just an abundance of confusion here and an extreme sensitivity to verbal and especially nonverbal communication that can exacerbate their confusion. Might have been bullied when they were younger. Since Neptune also rules altered states of mind, substance abuse might have been/is an issue.The pros of this though, is that they are unusually and even psychically attuned to people’s vibrations. Their sensitivity is literally their superpower. They can pick up on the subtleties others often miss. Natural psychics. As a child the imagination was probably on overdrive. An imagination that, if honed into adulthood can allow these natives to be EXCELLENT artists, writers, musicians, even actors. Very compassionate people. Beauty is indicated here as well, These natives can sort of put people under a spell. Think Sirens of Greek mythos. All in all, it’s a difficult aspect. I personally hate Neptune in hard aspect to anything but any difficult aspect can be overcome with the right amount of awareness. Do your best to see what’s real and be as honest as you can with yourself so as to avoid deception from others or deceiving people [intentionally or unintentinally]Hope that helps, love!

you might have to clarify what you mean by properly read a natal chart– what are you interested in?? because there’s a lot to tackle and different subjects to branch into so this might help a little. 💕 Are you looking for like– traditional astrology?? history of astrology?? different types of systems/charts?? modern astrology?? Books?? Podcast?? Bloggers etc. 

[Below Cut: Astrology Resources (beginner friendly)] 

Straight off the bat: I’d point you to cafeastrology.com, their resources are good. Some of us are just being stubborn about relying on the site for its chart but we really should be focusing on the resources here. They are great for beginners.  

If we’re going with like the basics/building blocks– here’s thenatalchart’s - How To Read Your Natal Chart: For Beginners  – it’s a pretty helpful guide to get started on everything and get the basics done.

Here’s another helpful Basics: ‘Astrology; Planets, Signs & Houses’ by thejewelledsky – I think I used this to get some distinction on how to put the chart together, and the explanations for the planets are pretty good. 

Bobmarks is pretty good too– idk, I use it personally because it’s sort of a go-to online index on astrology stuff. If you want to check up on something, concerning a certain terminology– Bobmarks might have it. But maybe do further research as well (use your own discretion when trying to gain more information with this one). 

If you’re looking for books: Encyclopedia of Astrology (Nicholas deVore) (just scroll down or use the ‘search document’ to find specific words) might be helpful 

Studies in Astrology - Elman Bacher : text heavy, but buildable and  opens doors for what you might want to learn more about as well.

Like cafeastro resources are always a nice bet to go to if you’re just trying to get a clearer/better idea– sometimes I go back to it as well, just to clear my head and get my thoughts straight. The only (apparent) reason people have a problem with the site for is it’s chart, but it’s resources are pretty good if you’re not looking for a specific type of astrology? 💕 Seriously like, I recommend just briefing through the resource sections. It helps a lot.

In reference to Neptune Square Ascendant, can you give me an example of how they are confused about life or sensitive to nonverbal cues?

They are sensitive to the things people don’t say but show. Subtle body language, the inflection in tone. Micro-expressions as well as micro-aggressions. They will process them and subconsciously understand them but at times may delude themselves into thinking they did not pick up on them and sometimes go about things the way they’d like to seem them not as things really are. This ties into the confusion about life. Rationality and imagination sometimes travel on the same wavelengths for them. They may confuse one for the other which can at times cause confusion in their lives.

Having a Libra Rising with a Leo MC sounds like a lot of fun. They probably have alot if charisma or be very well liked.

Yes, I’d agree. I can only speak for the Leo MC aspect since my rising is in Scorpio but from what I’ve observed and the friends I have with this aspect, they are usually LIVE. Live at parties, Live in social gatherings, live even when they’re visiting the gas station. People are just drawn to them. They’re like gravity, but with more charm ;). These aspects are accentuated more when the native is developed. When they are underdeveloped or ill aspected, they will display more of the negative qualities. Overindulgence, arrogance, tyrant-like behavior. Perhaps even some bullying since they will use their popularity to dominate the peers they have so much influence over. They have to be careful to use their gifts for good and not for vanity.

Thoughts on a Libra Rising with a Leo MC?

Libra rising makes someone good looking, measured, agreeable, charming, this will be displayed outright since it’s sitting on the asc. The house of self. What you display to the world. Natives will usually be popular or have a sensitivity to chaos so they’ll most likely do their best to keep things balanced/keep the peace [Libra =scales]. I have a Leo MC. It’s the best. You will shine in your career/public life. It kinda amplifies the popularity aspect. No bs, i mean it. The sun is literally sitting in the house of your public persona/career and the Sun is a benefic so it typically makes you shine in one way or another. I say the Sun because that’s the Star that rules Leo. These people are Ambitious and take pride in how they are perceived. Natural leaders. You look competent even if you don’t necessarily feel you are. With a Libra rising what you do may look effortless or you main gain a lot of support from your peers just because. Of course there are exceptions to every rule but this is the majority of the aspect from what I’ve observed. Try to use this blessing for good and not fall into a place of arrogance. Pride comes before the fall.
