Hii! How are you? I was wondering if there's anything in a person's birth chart that shows the shadow work they might have to do through their life. I thought of chiron, "the wounded healer", and maybe lilith, but idk. So that's why i would like to hear your opinion. Sorry if the question is kinda dumb, i was curious. Thank you so much for your time! Have a beautiful day/night💖
Hi, dear! The question is not stupid, but it seems very interesting to me. I love that you ask me questions, so don't be embarrassed to keep asking when you need to. Let’s answer your question!
From my point of view, I think there are 9 main points in our natal chart to know our "dark side" and to know what kind of "shadow work" we should work on.
1. 4TH HOUSE
Our 4th House indicates where we take refuge from our suffering. Some people have more work in this house than others, since here the person must open up to the blocked, repressed or ignored feelings for the fear of suffering or accepting them in the past. The individual must understand that these feelings must be externalized, but he or she must find the correct way to do so in order to avoid causing unnecessary harm to himself or herself and the people around them.
2. 7TH HOUSE
This is the house of relationships and personal expression, and it can talk about the parts of ourselves that we are in full negotiation with. The planets that are in this house can show aspects, attitudes or habits of ourselves that we don’t want to show the world and that, in the end, we project on our romantic partners, our friends and our work/study partners. We can also find in this house what we lack and that we seek others to complement when they are with us. For example, Mars in the 7th House are people who repress anger, a person with Mars in this house looks for people who easily express their anger and help us express ours.
3. 8TH HOUSE
The 8th House has a lot to do with our psychic abilities, although it can also tell us about the relationship that we have with our dark side and whether or not it will be easy to work on during our life. Therefore, the planet/s that are in our 8th House will tell us about these abilities, while the sign will tell us the relationship with our dark side and the ease that we will have to accept it and work with it.
Our 8th House can talk to tell us how the wounds or emotional problems related to our intimate relationships can help us bring about change and growth in us.
This house reflects our shadows on our friends, our partners and our partners (whether formal or not). If the planet or sign in our 8th House symbolizes or causes permanent anger in us, our partner will be an angry person and you will experience your own anger through your partner, as he or she will direct that anger towards you. In the end, whatever is in this house will be projected like a mirror. All this will end by accepting our shortcomings and taking responsibility for these shortcomings.
4. 12TH HOUSE
In the 12th House resides the dark side of the person, that mask that he uses in front of the world to obtain the approval he needs. Here you can see how collective wounds influence us: how the pain of others affects us, the thoughts or actions of a generation, etc. In addition, the 12th House is related to issues of reincarnation, so in this house we can find many karmic issues that must be solved in this life.
On the other hand, in the 12th House reside the dreams that our parents, and even grandparents, have not managed to manifest, along with this also reside their limitations and preconceived notions that we will adopt as our unconsciously (especially during our childhood and adolescence).
In this house you can work on “who we are and who they expect us to be”.
5. SATURN
Saturn can help us achieve self-control. Saturn shows us everything the individual wants to keep hidden, which is damaged and cannot be functional in this life. For this reason, what is damaged must be placed, once rebuilt, in its correct place within our psyche. Working with Saturn can be one of the most painful, since Karma is closely related to this planet. Wherever Saturn is (sign and house) we can know what kind of Karma we bring from other lives.
Saturn is related to the judgment we make about ourselves: criticisms, fears, limitations that may be a projection of our parents or other relatives on us. Saturn causes the individual to learn to reject or repress him or herself in order to gain the approval of the people who protect, support, or deliver well-being. Saturn-related injuries or trauma are often those that we think aren’t good enough.
6. NEPTUNE
Neptune represents our spirituality and our connection to divinity. The sign and the house in which this planet is will indicate how and in what area of our life we will experience a spiritual connection and merge with the divinity to lose the idea of individual. Neptune tells us where we try to escape from the real world in search of a harmonious fantasy full of everything we long for. Therefore, here we can see if the person seeks to imagine and live in a parallel reality to avoid the pain of real life. What do you avoid living and why.
7. PLUTO
Pluto is a "shadow planet" along with Saturn. Pluto refers to the experience of evil, darkness in the world, and darkness within us. Pluto indicates what kind of destructive, violent and inhumane behavior inhabits us. Also our fears when we express these negative behaviors.
Pluto's injuries can often involve child abuse, be it sexual, psychological, or both. The wounds of this planet make us feel insecure, vulnerable and about to lose control.
Pluto indicates the search for personal power, and this search is unstable, since we cannot reclaim our personal power without embracing our destructive and violent behavior: the ability to destroy and create (transform). Everything we hate about the human being, the forgiveness that surrounds us, are fundamental aspects of our own being. To know and evolve, we must take responsibility for our negative aspects.
When the person doesn’t understand his dark side and manages to balance their shadow and their light, this person becomes a victim of abuse of power and stops the externalization of their fears. However, this person can also become abusive towards others and project their darkness against others in search of a balance within themselves and expel all the negativity within them.
8. SOUTH NODE
The South Node, regardless of the house and the sign where it is, it gives information about our old way of being in another life. While the North Node can help you improve your soul by challenging you to face those changes you need to improve.
The sign and the house in which it is located can give many clues of what the experience was like in other lives. It feels like the imprint that has been left on your soul without you doing much to avoid it. It tells us of memories, of the unconscious, of the experiences already lived, of fears, phobias and blockages that we don’t find the reason for, of attitudes that we take without being very sure of what motivates them and of the reactions that we choose more easily (acquired behavior patterns).
9. CHIRON
In the house and sign where Chiron is, it will indicate a painful area that we need to heal during this life. How can it be done? Discover what kind of wound it is, accept it and let that same wound show you how to accept yourself along with your shortcomings and strengths. Along with Saturn, Chiron can refer to everything that we believe we do not deserve to receive.
The sign (element) will tell us what we perceive as a weakness in us. For example, having Chiron in a water sign indicates fear of being carried away by emotions; a Chiron in an earth sign will speak about fear of the material. Empathy and work towards others will be essential to successfully work with Chiron.
I hope my answer helped you! Good luck, darling!
