The Difference Between a Planet And Dwarf Planet (EXPLAINED)
Planets orbit the sun directly and have a sufficient mass for self gravity, and in order for them to truly be considered a planet they must have cleared their neighboring region of other objects and be gravitationally dominant
On the other hand, while dwarf planets do also orbit the sun and have a sufficient mass for self gravity, they have not/are unable to clear their neighboring region with other objects in its orbital zone with other bodies of similar size and gravitationally dominant and are also not used as a satellite for another body
