✨let’s welcome my new AU Aviantale!✨
You all are probably wondering:
Aviantale is an original AU concept that I made myself!
“Isn’t it just the same as Birdtale?”
Not at all! Although it does have similarities with Birdtale, Aviantale is vastly different in many aspects. Like how not every monster has bird like wings, they can also have aspects of insects, bats and many more creatures capable of flight. The wings aren’t the only aspects to the creatures they are based on there are way more features and personality traits interwoven. I’ve also created my own lore and world building in this AU.
“What’s the underground like?”
Each area in the underground got multiple upper layers one would have to get through before being able to progress to the next area. The map is as followed, Ruins, up to Snowdin, all the way down to Hotland, via an air geyser all the way up to Waterfall, up to New Home. (I’ll see if I can manage to try a map/layout of the areas)
Elders live on the ground levels of each area since their wings have become less strong due to age, plus since it’s in the underground and not the surface there’s almost no breeze, so monsters have to use a lot of magic to take flight.
Monsters in stripes who cannot yet fly or don’t yet have enough magic to take flight are gifted a flight cloth made by their family. This way their family can use magic to create an updraft and the monster in stripes will use that updraft to float up. (Or when the monster in stripes are too tired their family will use the flight cloth to tie their kids to their body before taking flight.) monsters in stripes often are taught by the elders and family.
The underground is quite crowded and there isn’t much space for the monsters to live. They are often tired due to the over use of their magic to fly. Their feet scrape against the harsh stone and ground and it hurts. The monsters are sad and cranky and way less hopeful then the monsters of Undertale.
There are legends going around about the vast endless sky and the ball of fire that goes down every night and up every day called the sun. There are tales of giant trees and forever moving spots of water. Among those legends there’s a myth that talks about how the creatures of the surface, called humans, will one day move down and free them all. These legends and myths are what keeps the monsterkind their sliver of hope
Monsters got two names; the name they get from their parents, and the name that is based on the species capable of flight that they or their family are based on.
“How do encounters work?”
Monsters will create an updraft and take to the air, floating as the encounter begins. For flightless monsters/humans they’ll use a flight cloth to use the updraft of air to float.
“What species capable of flight are the main cast based on?”
