my crack theory is that the ninth house = pluto & the nine R.B.s is intentionally misleading, making us think the nine beasts must = the nine houses. the ninth house was the house that ‘was never meant to be’ bc pluto (not actually being a planet) was never a thalergy planet in the first place (so never got resurrected as a thanergy planet). instead, the ninth R.B. is the moon’s revenant – logically the first place in the solar system for there to be some permanent settlement, which turned it into a complex system with a soul. coincidentally, the moon is never mentioned on the first house, and alecto’s original eyes, black ringed with white & black sclera, are reminiscent of a solar eclipse, aka when the moon passes in front of the sun
