Niall turns to his side, his eyes drifting to his girlfriend’s growing belly. He reaches out and spreads his hand out over her stomach. He feels a soft kick a couple of seconds later and a smile touches his lips. Looks like he isn’t the only one who’s awake.

niall thought it’s just coincidence that he keeps coming across babies who always smile at him when he’s on his way to work or when he’s doing their weekly groceries. sure, he dreams about the day he and his girlfriend, jena have a family of their own occasionally, but it never crosses his mind that it’s actually a hint the universe is giving to him.

a hint that soon, his girlfriend will wake him up in the middle of the night and tell him that she’s pregnant, that they’re pregnant. 

and so begins the journey niall and jena will never forget.

“Niall, relax, they’re not gonna hate you or anything,” she tells him. “Pretty sure they love you more than they love me.”

That’s impossible, Niall thinks. There’s no way someone could love him more than they could love Jena. “So, they’re okay with it?”

“You hear that, Peanut?” She whispers to her belly. “Your dad’s a terrible liar.”

“Hey, not terrible,” Niall argues as he knits his brows together. Jena shoots him an ‘are you sure?’ look and he nods. Lowering his voice, he says, “Lying is bad, Peanut. So ya should be grateful that ya dad’s not good at lying. Unlike ya mum.”

Jena takes his hand in hers and looks straight into his eyes as she repeats herself, “Niall, I’m pregnant. We’re pregnant.”
