She is unsure if it's the fact that the girl sounds distraught to her when she says that or maybe the fact that, at such a young age, she seems to be losing some kind of hope... It reminds Maggie of herself and the days in which she started to lose hope in what it meant to be a Supe.

And she doesn't want anyone to go through that – not if she can help it. So, with a soft attempt at a smile, she places a hand on the girl's shoulder.

"Why do you say that?" She pauses briefly, scouting for words, any words that could help lift the girl's spirits up. Of course, the girl would feel disillusioned in a world like this... And, though that was the safest route to not getting her heart broken, Maeve still attempted to make her feel better, find some kind of hope. "If you ask me, we need heroines like you now more than ever."

Harvey  recoils  .  He  wanted  kids  with  his  wife  for  some  time  now  .  Gilda  couldn’t.  That’s  okay  they’d  find  other  ways  .  —  It  didn’t  stop  him  from  trying  to  shoo  this  kid  off  at  every  turn!  What’s  her  deal  ?!  Where  are  her  parents  ?  He's  inquired  so  many  times  .  She  STILL  ends  up  right  in  his  path  .  It  just  isn't  safe  in  Gotham  for  children  anymore  even  more  so  if  the  child  in  question  lacks  basic  self-preservation  and  common  sense  !

He tries to be stern . ❝  Look , whatever you're trying to do here , stop it ! JUST . STOP . IT . Do you understand ?   ! ❞ God he looks like an idiot , can't even handle a young menace, thankfully there's not much of an audience to this ridiculous ordeal .

eye  narrowed  at  the  cup  of  coffee.  ' don't  be  mean  to  the  kid ... don't  be  mean  to  the  kid ... '  repeated  like  a  MANTRA  in  his  own  mind  as  he  stares  at  the  coffee.  no  amount  of  repeating  that  phrase  can  keep  that  narrowed  eyed  look  from  looking  up  at  her.  maybe  it  he  got  more  than  three  hours  of  sleep  he  wouldn't  be  so  grumpy.  that  wasn't  her  fault  though.  not  like  she  had  been  the  one  to  cause  those  nightmares  to  become  a  normal  standing  event.    " anyone  ever  tell  ya  it's  rude  to  talk  t'people  like  that  kid? "    his  voice  was  gruff , a  hint  of  grumpiness  in  his  voice.  but  that  was  all  due  to  his  lack  of  sleep.

            SHE   DIDN’T   HAVE   TIME.   THAT’S   WHAT   THEY   ALL   SAID.   IT   was   a   bit   disappointing   to   see   the   shift   on   their   faces   when   he   came   up   to   them   in   his   friendly   manner.   Whatever.   He   had   different   approaches   he   could   try.   It   was   clear   she   doesn’t   remember   or   lost   the   ability   to   have   that   child-like   magic.   It   made   him   sad,   and   it   was   visibly   seen   as   a   frown   fitted   the   corner   of   his   lips.   So   tragic.   

               HE   TILTED   HIS   HEAD   SO   THAT   RED   MESS   OF   HAIR   showed   his   pointed   ears.   Golden   eyes   gleamed   with   mischief   rather   than   childish   playfulness.   All   he   had   to   do   was   find   something   @atcmicbxtty   could   relate   to,   “   No   time?   Are   you   sure?   Everyone   can   have   time   to   play,   ”   he   held   up   his   hands   in   surrender   though,   “   Then   what   do   you   have   time   for?   ”

" wrong ?? no mercy means anything i need to do. " he was so sure it hadn't even occurred to him anything he did was wrong. when he was in a fight it was like tunnel vision. all that took over was johnny's teachings. strike first. strike hard. no mercy.
