i've really enjoyed witnessing your descent into hotteokism! i usually enjoy my atinydom quite passively and by my lonesome, but something i've always liked with k-pop specifically is watching that bias switch suddenly flip in people. especially when it's a concert/live performance that does it (collecting sisters in live conversion, i suppose)!

i have my little pet theory that the ones that sneak up on you have the strongest hold on you - my interest in k-pop as a whole had been dwindling when jongho rudely yoinked me back in. i'd been a enjoyer of their music since debut, watched a performance or two most comebacks, i was having such a great time being a casual fan. and then about two years ago i made the mistake of listening to concert clips, which immediately made me want to go, specifically for jongho.

it's so interesting to have a sudden moment where that attraction sparks! a violent perspective shift after which nothing can ever be the same! i'd always known jongho had a great voice and was handsome, but just like that he had the voice and the face, you know? and everything jongho related made me unreasonably happy, even retroactively. clips i'd already seen because i'd liked ateez for 5 years were doing something for me where they never had before.

that moment when a face become the face and all of the emotions and reactions that come with it are so fun!

First of all, Congratulations. Truly. Jongho is SUCH A GOOD EGG. I love him so much. And he's also so funny, too. Plus his capacity to turn on the sex appeal to SUPERHOT and then turn it back off to be like, Who, me? I'm just here, what? second to second is amazing.

I think this is the real fun of groups like Ateez where they pick 8 very different flavors of guy for you to like. And this is the joy of a longstanding group, I think, so I do feel fortunate that they're at least committed to working together for another long term, because this allows us to grow and change in our tastes and still maintain this connection to this group.
