i NEED to know what if felt like when Troublemaker started playing on Day 1 and you realized Seonghwa and Mingi were going to cover it
Sorry for the continued TMI but I've also been having memory problems lately (from prolonged insomnia) - lemme tell ya, my body has been a bit less than delightful a residence lately - so I appreciate this exercise in memory recall. Thank you for the ask!
So on Day 1, we'd just had Mirotic happen. I love that song. The entire audience knew that song, even though the ages that I could see from the lobby ranged from girls in their late teens to women who are in the age range to have grown daughters, meaning people both too young and too old to have been the target audience for that song when it came out had it in their instant recall. Great works will prevail! And of course, San and Wooyoung looked fucking amazing and did such a fantastic job. It was a TREAT to get a real song, with a bridge and chorus and real singing, and more than 2 minutes long and without idiotic single syllable repetitions!
I was as a result still very high from that experience. No thoughts, to be honest. Just happy. Excited. Also, I used to be a Janet Weiss from Rocky Horror Picture Show style of "I don't like men with too many muscles" type of girl, but after Mirotic? I was wrong, I realized. I was just looking at the wrong kind of muscles. I like San's muscles. I like his right tit better than his left tit -
Then the whistling began for Troublemaker and my whole section (N, if you care) went Uhhhh?? Ohhhh- AAAAAHHHHH [pause to inhale] SCREEAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
and we never stopped screaming.
So my thoughts were - 정말? 진짜로? 이걸 한다고? 어 진짜로 하네? 근데 잠깐만 잠깐만 잠깐만! 시간 너무 빨리 가자나! ! 민기가? 민기가 정말로 여자파트 하는거야? 엄마야!!! 진짜 하네? 왜 잘하지? 성화는 뭐야? 쟤들 뭐 하는 거야? 이거 진짜 하는 거야? 끝까지 가는 거야?
Really? Truly? They're doing THIS? Oh woah they're actually doing it? But wait -WAIT - WAIT! Time is moving too fast! Mingi? Mingi is doing the girl part for real? MOMMY! (Oh by the way, calling for Mom is the Korean version of OMG). They're doing it FOR REAL. Why are they good at this? What's up with Seonghwa? WHAT ARE THEY DOING? Are they doing this for real? Are they taking it all the way??
At this point I was just open mouth screaming and my tongue got very dry and my throat hurt so I closed my mouth and realized my jaw hurt as well from holding it open without pause the whole time.
And then bilingual brain had a fritz out and I started thinking in English:
Kiss him! KISSSSSSSSSS HIMMMMMMMMMMMMM but also omg this is hotter than if they actually kissed - NO IT ISN'T - yes it is.
More thoughts: Mingi is so light on his feet. How is he doing that? Also WAS THAT JUST A CLOSE UP OF HIS ASS? THEY PLANNED THIS LONG-TAKE ASS SHOT FOR THIS CONCERT? IS THIS WHAT HE WAS GIGGLING ABOUT IN THAT LIVE WHERE HE THREATENED US WITH PREPARING SOMETHING THAT WOULD MAKE US BEG HIM TO STOP? GIRRRRRRRRRRRRL Mingi you don't understand women at all whatsoever if you think we would want less of this.
When they turned the lights off for a bit I had this whole thing of recalling Lee Know doing it with Hyunjin and how that had been the rated PG version and this was the rated R version and then I thought, Oh the fanfic writers just got literal manna from literal heaven, they must be melted into a puddle, GOOD FOR HER and also I AM SO GLAD I WRITE A BLOG ABOUT ATEEZ BECAUSE I WAS SHOWN THE MINHWA GOSPEL LONG BEFORE THIS WHICH ALLOWED ME TO TRULY APPRECIATE THE SIGHT I SAW SHOWN. And then for Day 2, I was ready, of course, or thought I was, but I also wondered how it was that Seonghwa and Mingi could top the initial experience of watching this without warning, and then Seonghwa did this:

Yes he did.
And like, because Mingi's nose was basically IN Seonghwa's neck for so much of this song and because I wasn't like, having a panic attack about the passage of time in this song that I felt was suddenly much quicker than I ever remembered it, I did have time to wonder whether the two of them wore perfume for each other and if they changed perfumes between day 1 and 2. Am I projecting what I would do as a perfume wearing girlie on two dudes? Yes, yes I am. That's what we do in Kpop. I am well within my rights.
