Stevie should’ve known better than attempting to carry all the textbooks in her arms as she left the bookstore. Not wanting to use a plastic bag she scooped all of them up into her arms, making it approximately half a block before someone ran into her, causing her to fall and drop them all, a few scattering up the sidewalk a little. “Are you fucking kidding me?” He hollered at the person who just continued walking as she struggled to gather them all as people walked both around her and on top of the books. “Seriously?” She groaned, ignoring her scraped knees protesting as she crawled to pull the books in

The brunette had been to several weddings in her life and every single one of them never ceased to make her cry. For someone so against the idea of true love for herself, she often found comfort in those who had found it. Watching her friend tie the knot with his beautiful wife had struck a cord deep within her, it was a gorgeous ceremony and now that she’d cleaned herself up from the tears she’d shed she was standing next to the bar as the bartender fixed her drink.

The downside to weddings is it often reminded her of her own fling of a wedding, eloping in Vegas by Elvis wasn’t at all the same as what was going on here, but she was still reminded. The girl grabbed her drink from the man behind the bar and tipped the glass to her lips as her eyes scanned the dance floor watching everyone, some familiar faces and some new, having a good time. She smiled to herself, enjoying watching everyone when she felt a body beside her. “Some reception huh?” she asked the other.

From the moment Danny’s feet hit the sand, he was off. He raced into the sea whooping and shouting like a kid. He pulled off his t shirt and threw it aside along with his baseball cap and then flung himself into the cool  ocean. Danny swam around the waters and laughed and did handstands and tried to surf the waves before heading back to the beach. “ Fuck the water is awesome. You been in?” He asked the nearest person as he went to pick up his clothes. “I heard they got jet skis too, I wonder where they are?”

Poe sat in a booth at the diner she worked at, finally taking her much needed break. People had been filing in all day long, coming home from the beach trip and she was exhausted. Her phone vibrated in her pocket, pulling it out and swiping the screen. She quickly checked over her shoulder, seeing it was from Nolan- jumping slightly at the sight of someone next to her. “Oh... Sorry I’m on break” she said assuming they were coming to ask her a question or be seated.

“You know I don’t know why I bother even allowing friends to attempt to set me up on blind dates anymore, because clearly they’re never meant to work out. Like the one attempt today--he showed up to the restaurant, made direct eye contact with me and gave me one of those once over things and then turned around and left!” Aine scoffed as she aggressively bit the cookie in her hand. “Least he didn’t leave me with the tab halfway through the evening like the last two did.” She muttered before looking up. “Sorry...I’m rambling, you don’t need to pretend to care about any of this at all” She let out a soft laugh. “This is why I stick to reading and all”

Public transport and busy coffee shops didn’t exactly mix well with girls in grubby sports kits and a backpack with two hockey sticks poking out the back. (Listen, it was either take forever changing and miss grabbing a coffee before a tutoring session, or grab a coffee and worry about the state of her hair when she got there.) Exhausted from training, and dying for the coffee after a long wait in line, Kit had become a bit careless.

On the way out the coffee shop door, Kit turned swiftly to move out of the way of an old lady. The hockey sticks, agents of chaos that they were, made a perfect hit on the coffee cup of someone also trying to get out the door, sending said coffee straight to the ground and the feet of everyone surrounding them.

“Oh, shit...” Kit mumbled, deliberating whether it would be easier to just make a run for it. She turned sheepishly, again forgetting about the sticks and almost getting the old lady in the eye this time. “Uh, hey, I am so sorry for that! I didn’t, like, burn you or anything did I?”

Getting out in the sun was the greatest thing. Well, it was as long as there weren’t too many people. However, that was also the problem. Sebastian had been laying on the towel he had brought out to the park for a good two hours, alternating between people watching and reading. He had just begun to doze off when he was hit in the face with a ball. Sputtering, he tried to find the owner, eyes settling on the first person he saw. “Is...um, is this yours?”

      “ penguins … “ he began with seemingly no context regardless as to whether the other was listening or not , in his own little fantasy world ( he’d thank the years of alcohol abuse for killing off the majority of those brain cells ) . a tattooed finger waved in their direction , his tawny gaze glancing upward from it’s previous position on the ground to grab attention and at least humor his dumb thought . “ are they birds , or are they fish – ‘cus they swim and are all shiny and shit , but they got wings ‘n beaks .. the wings don’t work though !! should’a paid more attention when i watched ‘ happy feet ‘ but i couldn’t get over frodo baggins bein’ cast as one of those little dancin’ fuckers , “
