“I don’t want to eat.” His words cut the other short, syllables connecting all in one breath. How could Caelum find peace like this? He couldn’t even find a second of silence if not for his own heart pounding in his ears. “I’m not going to, um, get hexed or something, right? I mean, you do this all the time, don’t you?” It’s curiosity that lead Caelum here, crouched down on the dirtied tiled floor of some house that he’s never dreamed of stepping foot into (but words can be so convincing sometimes).
All he wanted was an answer, just one. It more than likely wasn’t that simple but Caelum had searched every where else and if they were being honest here then the childish prince was at his wit’s end. With eyelids drooping all too heavy while his gaze trained itself on the nimble fingers, ones that played over the cards with ease and familiarity, Caelum felt marginally eased. “How does this even work? You’ll tell me if I’m going to die, wont you?”
