Predeterminism and religion go hand in hand for most religions, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism included (the idea of God having a "plan" for you and that "everything happens for a reason") and this is especially harmful to trauma survivors, esp when that "plan" involved experiencing torment, in many cases, unfathomable. Love isn't abuse and that includes God. I'm not sure how this differs from someone abusing you and then calling it love, a lesson, or an opportunity for growth..
Idk when people say peace be upon him, regarding sex offender Mohammad from the Quran who married a child, I feel angry, hateful, disappointed, sad, and disgusted because my need for survivors of childhood sexual abuse to be treated with love, safety, integrity, dignity, kindness, protection, compassion, and respect is not being met
Honestly, it shouldn't be considered offensive or controversial in the slightest to say that Islam is wrong for worshipping a man and saying "peace be upon him" who married a 5-year-old. Like that is evil as fuck and unacceptable

The idea of being "special" especially as observed in some religious ppl about how "blessed" they are in comparison to those who have it worse rather than lending a helping hand is just... idk I understand the "thoughts and prayers" gesture when you're not sure how to help yet and want to make ppl feel cared for... and not abandoned..
