your post about the citations reminded me that last year i had to proofread and correct a paper written by a classmate and i do not know what happened with this girl but she
-did not cite a single goddamn scientific study. like, the only thing we were supposed to use were studies and government reports on our species. all of her sources were just random websites.
-seemingly invented words several times throughout the paper?? i can't remember what they were but i do not think they were real words at all.
-most bafflingly, ended her paper with a completely uncited and as far as i can tell entirely unfounded declaration that mexican wolves were evolving into a new species?? this had nothing to do with the rest of the paper either like it was a paper about the identification, reproduction, ecology and conservation of our selected species and for absolutely no reason she was just like, "yeah so anyway mexican red wolves are going to evolve into a new species soon. source: trust me."
HELP i am so sorry 😭 i think i would have loved reading a paper like that if i didn't have to edit it though. that wolf argument sounds fun
