loved your post about people saying pam is selfish. i just want to reiterate something you said about having built in babysitters by living close to family. Pam has two young kids which is a lot of work so having their parents close by must be a huge support network. and wanting pam to just up and leave their support network is a lot to ask. for me having my mum close by was sometimes more support than my husband because she had experience
Yes, and all clues point to Pam’s mother helping take care of the kids often. I wish they had included a line at some point about the importance of having that support, like maybe in the S9 premiere when Jim said Athlead being in Philly “doesn’t really work for the family” include a little line about how much they depend on Pam’s mom or other family member helping out or that Philly is two hours away from their best babysitter as well so that the audience could get a better idea of everything that needed to be considered before taking a new job and moving a young family.
