saw your tags on that dnd post and I felt that because when a party member rolls a nat 1 our dm makes it so they attack one of us and lemme tell you nothing makes you realize how powerful your teammates are until one of them leaves you on 1 hit point and begging for mercy
my friend had a minmaxed barbarian & my poor little wood elf bard stood zero chance
We were fighting our first boss, so he put everything he could into his attack only to hit a nat 1 & it. ricocheted. Athot died immediately.
I got so mad about it that when my DM told me to make a new character & he rejected my first idea I just sent him my original character sheet except I changed the background to Clone, & he just went “haha I’ll allow it” & then it spiralled & Athot went to Bthot then to Cthot, Dthot... etc. Fun times.
