I’ve been watching a lot of Merlin recently so I thought I had to do an Arthur Pendragon piece ~ Enjoy!
I have read so many fanfics with Merlin time-travelling to the past after Arthur’s death to set everything and whatnot.
But what if Arthur was the one who travelled to the past?
I want to read a story where after Arthur dies, he gets sent to the past, before he met Merlin. Arthur dragging a confused Merlin around to free an innocent sorcerer, Merlin going into panic mode because Arthur keeps hinting at his magic but still acts dumb about it and Arthur coming up with much better lies when someone comes really close to discovering Merlin's magic.
I want a totally smitten Arthur Pendragon just teasing Merlin more than usual (read: flirting) with Merlin constantly getting flustered but a bit confused. Arthur is trying to build a better relationship with Morgana and helping her when needed. Him trying to set up Gwen and Lancelot because they are perfect for each other. Him just not listening to Uther and showing he does not agree with Uther on many things.

I feel like anyone in the Arthurian fandom should read The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. There are so many parallels between the two worlds it's impossible for you to not enjoy them.
And if you're in the SOT/LOFTS fandom, read Arthuriana. It will hold you over until the next book comes out (Severed Souls).

It annoys the fuck out of me that Gaius and Hunith kept the identity of Merlin's father a secret. All those years he was in that cave, and Merlin never even knew!! They thought it was better keeping him in the dark than let him know his father was alive and well! They could have had a wonderful relationship, but noooo, as always Gaius thought he knew better
