Personality: During her childhood, Toph was belittled by her overprotective parents, teaching her to not have confidence in her ability to navigate the world without sight. When she learned earthbending, her confidence increased greatly. When her parents found out that she was the Avatar, they only increased their security and overbearing relationships.
When she eventually met Zuko and Azula, Toph was fiercely independent, sarcastic, stubborn, and very blunt and/or confrontational. She had abandoned the delicate girl her parents wanted her to be, and Toph started dressing and acting more like a tomboy. She has great confidence in her abilities (well, in her earthbending, at least); she believes that the others shouldn't have to take care of her because of pity. Toph was often brutally honest when criticizing others, especially her friends. She was vocal about her opinions on others regardless of status or age. Her verbal insults grew quite colorful as time progressed, often aimed towards enemies or her friends.
While she may seem tough and unfriendly on the outside, Toph isn't above letting herself or her friends show physical affections, often punching them (playfully, of course) or letting them hug her (although begrudgingly).
Description: Toph has pale skin and foggy, pale green eyes with dark brown hair that's usually tied up in a big bun at the back of her head.
Backstory: Toph ran away when she was around ten years old. She lived in caves with badgermoles she found living deep underneath there, and she learned earthbending from them. She lived there for around two years, before the truth of her identity was revealed when she was found by the two Fire Nation royals.
Small Details
-While she was confident in her abilities as the Avatar, Toph has the occasional doubt when manipulating the other elements due to her lack of sight.
-Toph loves making jokes at the others' expense or making backhanded compliments
-Toph has horrible personal hygiene; she hides the fact that she struggles with it by playing it off as a thing earthbenders do
-Sometimes she will act a little feral; while she doesn't necessarily bite or anything, she'll growl and imitate the badgermoles (and the animals around her)
-Toph is autistic
-Toph often takes on the tougher things/objectives to prove to others that she can indeed do it without sight
-Toph struggles with following orders and will often ignore anything said to her as a way to spite them
-Despite her duty as the Avatar and to hold all of the elements together, Toph almost exclusively wears Earth Kingdom clothing as a way to honor her birth kingdom (and also because she's stubborn)
-Toph isn't as stuck in the past and constantly advocates for change
