Here's a lil' random question, but what would actually happen if her hollow mask would have been completely destroyed. General what would happen if the mask got destroyed by an Arrancar. Lil' bit curious there X'D

Well, the destruction of one’s mask via a Zanpakuto seems to do the trick of legitimately slaying the Hollow. (Arrancar are still hollows, they naturally occur outside of Aizen’s regime, they’re just not nearly as developed.)

However, based on Chad’s abilities and his lack of Zanpakuto (As well as his abilities being similar to Hollows themselves), it stands to reason that a hollow can be killed by another hollow. (Besides eating, anyways. But that’s what they mainly do.) They try to kill each other all the time, the arrancars I mean.

Between Nnoitra trying to kill Nelliel and Yammy attempting to kill everyone that irks him, there’s a high possibility that the destruction of their masks in general as a whole would in turn obliterate the hollow. Take a look at Nelliel for instance, her mask was cracked and her Reishi left her in a lump sum, leaving her soul to shrink. (In turn causing her to be Nel Tu.) That crack shows a lot more attachment between a mask and the soul itself all in all.

In conclusion, if her mask had been completely destroyed, there’d be no more Nel. It’s like a weak spot but a strong point as well. (A paradoxical instance.) It can be used as a shield against Ballas and Ceros, but blunt force trauma (In a strong enough dose) would turn it into a weak point.
