Send a 👫 and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship
1. they know each other since childhood, right after they arrieved in ss —— as they spend they whole lifes somewhat together, there’s very little they did pass through alone. oh & they totally did a lot of shit together, specially during their time in the living world; stealing, vandalism, piracy, fraud, disturbing the peace, etc. bonus: mashiro’s for sure the ONLY person ( alive ) who ever saw kensei crying, but she has never teased him about it, like she would with other ‘shameful’ behaviors. maybe because she knows he also has his share of times seeing her cry, for serious matters. after all, rukongai sucks, & once they were just kids. bonus: kensei just isn’t one to laugh out loud; he’s a quick-chuckle kinda guy, in his best days — except mashiro managed to make him bark a laugh a couple times already, but they were alone! & now no one believes her. bonus: for a very short while, mashiro was the Tall One when they were children, & she would always say things like ‘i’ll decide bc i’m Older’ even if she wasn’t ( kensei had no way to know; she would never tell her age back then ), — so now he sometimes tease her the same way, to make her harvest the bitter fruit of karma >:^)
2. back in TBTP, they worked together & put a lot of effort on the seireitei communication, on the shot time they had heading it. even though she hates doing paperwork, she still has a better writing style than kensei — & she would look out for more themes to base articles on, things that would actually raise morality & that went beyond the fighting related stuff kensei was prone to. ———— also, everybody liked her more than they liked kensei, which means she had access to quality content easier. by the time they ‘died’, it was going so well ss felt it was a shame to cancel the whole thing ( so they didn’t ) bonus: now shuuhei takes care of everything, yet they still publish articles together… or they try! it’s usually content such as ‘Top 10 Things To Do In The Living World That Would Kill You If You’re Human, Ranked By How Painful It Would Be.’, so sometimes it doesn’t pass the editorial board. ( a.k.a boring shuuhei )
3. they’re a package deal, if kensei’s going somewhere, to do something fun or captain related matters, she’s automatically invited. & even if her title isn’t official, she still has autonomy to walk around ninth’s barracks & lieutenant’s rooms, as well as give orders to subordinates — kensei made it clear she has to be respected. bonus: there’s no point on giving paperwork to her; instead kensei trusts her with training schedules. he knows shuuhei’s more on the soft side when it comes to fighting, so mashiro’s the best option not only to train with shuuhei, but also with seatted subordinates & kensei himself. thanks to her, pretty much everybody on ninth is buff af :)
4. kensei loves hand-to-hand combat, but he’s not at all cool about it; he’s one to grab, punch, kick, throw, he likes to get done with it quickly, heavy. & so he fights dirty, with ugly, pratical moves ———— but mashiro’s way more ‘acrobatic’, elegant even; she has absurd moves kensei has no idea how she perfoms, let alone how he would copy. when they’re training, she has always ways of slipping from a grab he was sure to be firm, or evading a hit that was bond to land. & more often than not, whenever she does a show off move, he’ll be caught off guard — not only physically but also in a ‘wow fuck’ way — & next thing he knows, he’s with his back on the floor, or with his head throbbing from a punch, or with a broken rib poking out, all ‘????? what the fcuk was that >:0’. it might not be pratical, but he sure loves her fighting style. bonus: so of course, mashiro’s his fav person to train with. she knows all his weak points, all the annoying things that’ll distract him from the fight, & she has no quals about using them against him — she doesn’t need to worry about hurting kensei because, more than anyone, she knows how far she can go with him.
