A spec evo concept from earlier this year. The Grastailed Quail was made for Joschua Knüppe's Atlantis challenge, a relatively recent arrival on the island descendet from New World Quails. The basic idea was that the males would use their tail feathers to blend in with the grass of their home savannah. Funny enough, many of the later quail entries would fit quite neatly into the same general vibe as this one, with plenty of birds featuring headcrests or elaborate tail displays. Funny how things work out some time.
