i stole my brother’s shirt… unbeknownst to me, my brother had stolen this shirt from his best friend, who had stolen it from his dad, who apparently had like ten of them at home. storyline is, yesterday they were invited over for dinner and me and my brother’s best friend’s DAD accidentally showed up in (his) matching company t-shirts LMAOO

Brait tossed the garbage bag into the nearby dumpster and heaved a long-suffering sigh through his nose. He turned on his heel with a glance at the abandoned egg, ready to leave and do his best to forget about the forlorn sight.

Guilt instantly sprouted like a persistent weed in his gut, and he stopped cold. Paws curling into fists, he marched over to the purple egg and crouched in front of it.

“Yer parents’ are pieces of shit...” He said to the thing, laying a paw on its warm surface. He looked around, eyes lingering on the people hurrying past the alley entrance without even a sideways glance.

Brait swallowed and shifted the egg minutely. A shiver ran up the thing, and he retracted his paw. With his touch gone, the thing stilled. With a last huff of breath, he wrapped both arms around the egg and picked it up. It fell against his chest fur, dirty chitin shell muddying his white fur. He wanted to grimace, to pull a face and put the pitiful thing back where he found it. Instead, he tightened his hold and squared his shoulders.

“Guess’n I’ll be lookin’ after you now.” He muttered, heading back to the alley door he had come from. “Not like any’ne else is gonna do it...”

Tempest Biotechs: Setekh’s company, the leading business of ATLAS. Basically keeps the city afloat. Produces household AI and automatons as well as warmongering products on the aside.

Scarlet Ibis: run by Parvenu. The most luxurious nightclub in ATLAS and quite possibly in all of the Shifting Expanse. Boasts live exotic dancing, excellent dining, and the finest liquors.

Tornlight Tarot: a new tarot-reading shop run by Paarox and Vertigo, a pair of arcane-infused imperials. Paarox offers tarot reading and fortune telling while Vertigo sells crystals and herbs. In a rivalry with Run’s backstreet vending.

Voltech: arguably just an offshoot of Tempest Biotechs. Tempest Biotech’s foremost supplier of electronics. The CEO is shrouded in mystery and has never been seen.

Atlas Randoms: Arianne

Arianne bears a fleeting resemblance to the captured goddess

She has infrequent headaches, which makes it hard for her to sleep well or often

She has partial amnesia and thus she isn’t sure what world she originates from

She feels out of place with the heroes in the Resistance and so is emotionally distant from everyone. To mask this, she pretends to be buddy-buddy and flirtatious 

She is coveted by all factions of the world because she is the only person that can accurately pinpoint energy resource spots as soon as they spawn

She tends to speak in what seems like riddles to most characters, but the frogs know that she’s referencing the “real” world

Her primary ability is to bring things to life with words. That is to say, her words manifest forms of power and substance depending on their conviction when said (ie. an offhand joke will manifest as something like a banana peel gag)

When unable or unwilling to use her magic, she relies on a large spool of metallic wire that she manipulates into various forms

Said wire is also fairly odd and was probably derived from her primary ability

Despite her role as a living “metal detector”, she has a much deeper role that even she doesn’t realize
