Hunter calling Willow "Captain" is something that could be so personal... to Hunter himself lol

In asias Hunter's arc was basically trying to prove that he deserves to be the Golden Guard, and in part trying to make Darius call him "the Golden Guard", because Darius never does and instead uses a derogatory nickname meant to show he doesn't deserve his title and only got it through nepotism.

Meanwhile Willow is trying to prove to the abominations professor that she could be the Captain of a team.

Hunter calling Willow "Captain" is him using the title that he believes she had earned and showing her the respect that he wished others showed to him. It's a show of camaraderie, not submission.
