Dear universe and beyond, I am extra, EXTRA thrilled that the Dolby Atmos version of my piece "Envelopes" is now available on compatible streaming services (Apple Music, Amazon, Tidal)! OMG, this is the way this piece sounded IN MY HEAD from conception, so getting to mix it in a 3-dimensional space is a true life's gift for me. I remixed the stereo version as well which should be live shortly. Both versions are a wee bit different from the original in the end section where I filtered the Rhodes piano out of the way of the horns a bit. This section is the "Reconstruction" where a long relationship has made it through being exploded to bits, into a deep reckoning, and put back together. It is now familiar but different, stronger, wiser, more complex...the human experience, y'all. I want it to feel beautiful and hopeful. If you have an iPhone, you can enable Dolby Atmos in Settings/Music and hear a headphone version that has added space and vibe. Android users can hear a binaural version as well. The standard stereo release seems to be pending for a little longer in the streaming queue, but I am too excited not to share this one. If you have a soundbar with Dolby Atmos, or even a home theater 5.1 system, queue it up! If you have an Atmos studio setup, this one will run the gamut of the 3d space. Very excited. Activate Dolby Atmos robots! It works 😁 Now I can hide my center channel and see all of my largest screen when working in stereo. Then, I can bring up the center channel speaker for Atmos mixing and use more of the lower screen when needed for Atmos. This is a very exciting day realizing my idea of an actuator lifting my center channel when needed. My larger screen was mounted higher than the fixed center channel originally, but that was not good for my neck in everday use. That sparked this idea. My large screen is also inset into the acoustic wall frame, so I could not lift that screen up and down. I am nerdily excited that this is working 😁😁 Now I just need markers for exact height and to lock everything down so the speaker stays exactly where it is for acoustic reasons.
