Below is an excerpt from the episode. John Hendricks: One of the most important takeaways that I wanted the people I was training to understand was it isn’t just a physical workout, but you’re also learning about yourself. What your limitations are, where your ceilings at, and what you need to improve on. I’m glad you guys brought that up because its something that really transcends fitness. You can really apply it to your life in general. Which will improve the quality of your life in whatever your pursuing. Chuck Ritter: Methodologies like Atomic Athlete’s where their kind of a hybrid of everything with a smart philosophy on how to train. How to train for durability, how to re cover, how to train a complete athlete. Every solider needs that. A lot of times guys go to the gym and just jack weights, but lose those anaerobic components. Yeah they lift a ton of weight but on the battlefield you’ll get fatigued and go down. One of the things I told Jordan was I’ve never been in combat outta 9 combat deployments where I said man I wish I’d done more muscle ups, or military press more, but I’ve always been to where I wish I had more explosive leg endurance. Overall aerobic ability because hours and hours of going through fields, and going over walls, going through firefights over days and days that smokes your body.
