Did I PR my 1 rep max on the decline bench press today after feeling super weak on my push day last week? Damned right I did.

Bench 1RM 125#
I don’t have a rack so I’ve never been able to determine my 1RM. And I’ve always been curious. So with Lance and Jon here, they were my spotters. I was able to do 120, jumped up to 130 and failed. And dropped down to 125 and managed it.
i’ve always had problems with my body image, from eating disorders to gender identity problems. recently, i joined a gym, and a friend gave me a course to follow (german volume training). i’ve made a lot of amazing progress, but nothing makes me prouder than this. for leg press, my current 1RM is 720 pounds. my max working reps is currently 630 pounds. if need be, i could kick two full grown reindeer off of me.

I wanted it, so I went for it. 520x1 #deadlift, a #1rm for this bodyweight, and a #deficit. Still need some work on the tying my hips with the rest of the lift, but felt really good and smooth. This week I hit strength levels I never have. Almost every #compoundlift was up in weight. Two weeks ago I could barely get 455 up. I took a #deload week and came back stronger. Sometimes your best course of action is taking a break. Let your body heal. #fitness #legion #onfridayswedeadlift
New routine I found on bodybuilding.com. I’m going to try do both at once. The one I had already started, which is all simply resistance work, alternating heavy/low rep to medium/high rep. And now this, which is based on circuits and getting leaner, fitter and building stamina etc. It kicked my butt just now, haha. Also, a simple five mile bike ride.
Oh, and I forgot to log my first move. One rep max on smith machine bench press (don't like using the machine, but just safer without a spotter, lol). I managed 45kg.
Deadlift 1 rep max today
My heaviest so far is usual sets and reps at 45kg. Part of today's routine is my one rep max on this move, which is my nemesis. I really struggle with grip and form. But let's see how heavy I really can go. It's not really the lift itself, it's often getting the bar off the rail into position, haha. And then back on!
I've just done an 85kg rep right down to my chest. That was my previous estimated 1RM, but I'd never dared actually do it. And it felt okay. 87.5 is next, then 89.5, 92.5, maybe 93.5...
