Crane does not internalize death very well, nor does he deal with it in any healthy manner. He has killed before but he doesn't fully grasp the concept of mortality; the existence of actual afterlives (like Hades' Underworld) as well as the existence of The Black Lanterns and the constant altering of things that should not be possible means that he is not even anywhere NEAR ready to come to terms with death. A part of him realizes that his father, and all those he has killed, are not coming back, but the other part of him tells him its simply because they're waiting to be brought back.

This hits very hard when a loved one dies. He typically talks to them as if they're still alive, and not just in a "sitting at your grave" type of way, but in a "dig you up from your grave because how are you supposed to actually escape when you come back" way.

For any hated enemy, or anyone he wishes to be dead for good, he will not only kill them, but will often disassemble them and scatter their body parts to make sure their soul is still tethered and unusable, or, in extreme cases, he will quite literally liquefy them and use their essence in his experiments.

Delicious smells waft from Eliza's small kitchen as she bends over a simmering pot. It's nice having Jon over, particularly sharing this oddly tender moment. She can't help but keep glancing at him as they work. It feels...domestic. The redhead smiles to herself as she chops more vegetables.

   In a bored voice, “Sir, please do not harass the fabrics, they get startled rather easily.” It wasn’t necessarily the fabrics that were unsettled, moreover Arden herself. Something about the lanky man set her on edge, in a very not so fun way. A shiver ran down her spine.
