Atsuna Tolerate it Prompt
Atsumu hid the suitcase he had just packed in the closet when he heard the door to their apartment open and close. He quickly wipes his face, checking the closet mirror to make sure it wasn't obvious he had been crying.
"Tsumu, you home?"
When Atsumu heard Suna call out to him he couldn't help the flicker of hope in his chest that maybe, just maybe, he had noticed. That he noticed Atsumu had taken down the family photos he put up from when he was a child, and his normally messy nightstand was bare. That he hadn't been wearing the promise ring he always wore
Atsumu left their bedroom, going into the kitchen and Suna greeted him with a nod as he put away his volleyball bag. "Is dinner almost ready?" Atsumus heart dropped and he just shook his head. "No was hopin we could go out ta dinner-" "Not tonight, Tsumu. Im tired." "Right"
Atsumu turned silently to the refrigerator and pulled out stuff to make dinner as he listened to Suna move into the kitchen, sitting on the couch to start playing a game with Komori. Not once did Suna say anything to Atsumu until he brought over his plate, sitting next to him on
The couch. "Thanks baby, how was your da- Oh fuck, they're coming in from the northeast!" "My day was fine, practice was good. Were working on some new strats that I think will do-" "Oh that's nice. Hey Komori, did you see any ammo back there?"
Atsumu silently watched as Suna played, noticing the way his eyes lit up when Komori said something funny, the way he pulled his knee away when Atsumus brushed against it. Hearing the ring tone he had for Osamu go off in the bedroom, he quietly got up, grabbing their plates
And he put them in the sink before he went back to the bedroom, picking up. "Hey Samu.." "Are you still wanting me to pick you up tonight? Did you guys talk it out?? Did he /listen/" Atsumu tried to keep his voice steady as he responded, though his voice cracked at the end. "No, he just...came home and had me make dinner then got on with- with komori." "Shit...tsumu I'm sorry...I'll be there at 11 like we talked about. You have everything ready?" "Yeah, I just need to grab the important documents from the office then...yeah I'll be ready."
"Alright I love you Tsumu." "Love you too." When he hung up he stuffed his phone into his pocket and pulled his suitcase out again grabbing the final pieces of his clothing he had left. He held the red scarf Suna had gifted him two years prior and sighed before setting it aside
With one final look around their bedroom and bathroom, He rolled his suitcase into the office, walking behind Suna to get to it. He never turned around. Atsumu grabbed his birth certificate and other documents, putting them in the front pocket of his suitcase. He left everything in the office, and rejoined Suna on the couch and not once did Suna look over at him until he turned off his game, an hour later. "Ready for bed?" He offered his hand out to Atsumu who took it and followed Suna into the bedroom, that glimmer of hope returning
Suna looked around the bedroom, his eyebrows furrowed and he looked over at Atsumu before smiling. "You cleaned up, it looks way better in here. Not as messy." "Oh..yeah I cleaned. I'm glad you like it." Suna kissed his forehead and dropped his hand, going into the bathroom
So he could shower. Atsumu changed into sweats and spare MSBY jersey he had left out. When they were both in bed, Atsumu tried one more time. He curled up against Suna who immediately moved away. "Too hot tonight, Tsumu, I'm tired" Atsumu didn't say anything and he rolled away
When 11 p.m came, Suna was fast asleep and Atsumu climbed out of bed. It felt almost methodical as he made his side of the bed, setting his promise ring and key to the apartment on the kitchen counter and he grabbed his suitcase from the office. When Osamu came in, he immediately pulled his twin into a hug, and Atsumu almost broke down right there in the entryway. It took them ten minutes to grab the two suitcases he had in the office and to clean the kitchen, which Osamu protested against. It took an hour to get to Osamu's apartment and the moment Atsumu was inside, the waterworks opened and Osamu held his twin as he cried. "He didn't- he didn't even notice. I don't- I don't know- know why he stopped loving me" Osamu didn't know what to say and he just held him. Atsumu fell asleep in Osamu's arms an hour later in his bed, having exhausted himself from crying. Osamu knew he couldn't help his twin fix his relationship, but he could help his twin recover from heartbreak. It would just take time.
