Anthromancy, the magical art of assuming an anthropomorphic from and/or assuming anthropomorphic qualities, can be dangerous for quadrupeds as not combining the correct spells can lead to vertigo, back problems, phantom limb syndrome, dissociative identity disorder, and/or spell dependency disorder. It looks like Lyra is using a basic spell called Force Hands, it is similar to the Human Transmutation Spell called Mage Hand, though this spell does not work at range and allows the caster to use their own muscle to lift. Further spells in the book would be better in the long run physically but risk more of the psychological side effects. These are Hooves to Hands and Pivot Hip, or if high enough in magical power Transmutate Quadruped to Biped (this gives full advantage and natural adaption of having a bipedal form while retaining the quadrupedal races advantages that do not require all four legs). I wish Mrs. Lyra luck in her studies but hopes she does not go to far.
