Trying out a new #attenuator- Carl’s Custom Guitars’ #SpeakerSoak - on loan from founding member of the #GuitarCollective, @tomgibson3783. However I won’t be trying it with this 1970 #Marshall #Lead20...its output transformer impedance is 16 ohms, while this attenuator is made for 8 ohms. My dude, what's the actual difference between an attenuator and just using a volume pedal? Besides spending a shitload more, of course, but I can't see any real difference there.
An attenuator actually goes between your amp and your speakers. This way you can push the living shit out of your power tubes and control the over all volume of that. Very different. Good question though.
