A big part of the story is that the rats are in a band,, called *drum roll* Pack Rats anyway this is everyone's instruments/rolls Fletcher- lead singer Atticus- lead guitar Roach- bass, backup singer Lucky- rhythm guitar, backup singer Tony- drums The band has been together for about 2 years so Beau and Honey are a little late to the party. Though Beau likes to make stuff for the band, like posters and t-shirts, and of course Lucky helps with the designs. And Honey has kind of taken charge as manager

how all of the rats met each other: Atticus and Tony have known each other since birth. Roach and Fletcher have been friends since middle school. Then Fletcher and Atticus met in high school, uniting these four. Tony met Lucky on the track team, then he joined. Fletcher and Atticus met Beau when they were looking at apartments, he lives in another complex. Honey recently moved into Fletcher and Atti's building.
