official accounts are still calling these wildfires. there’s nothing “wild” that’s getting burned here. these are fucking houses. these are whole fucking neighbourhoods that people lived in. THESE ARE HOUSES AND WORKPLACES AND WHOLE LIVELIHOODS BURNING TO FUCKING ASH CAUSE OF FUCKING INCOMPETENCE

the whole of Athens is experiencing electricity flickering, there’s a constant ashen cloud for 3 bloody days now, the moment the wind turns to blowing south that goes into the lungs of about 35% of the country’s population... nvm, the cloud’s already here

these have long stopped being wildfires. there’re building and villages burning here, not just trees and bushes
