i didn’t realize it’s been over a week since the last update so here’s a TEENY TINY snippet from chapter 13 because it IS taking a while alkdjhfajkf sorry 💕

Adam blinked and chased the memory of Alastair’s face away. “He’s dead, right? They...they confirmed it, or whatever?”

Sam nodded slowly. “Yeah. He’s dead.”

Of course he’s dead. I saw it. I did it. Adam closed his eyes and tried to swallow the lump in his throat. “Did they tell you…?”

Dean was gentle when he said, “They didn’t tell us any details, no. Just that he’s, y’know. Not alive.”

Adam took a deep breath and tried to school his expression into something more apathetic, less panicked. “So it really is over.”

“Yeah. It is.” Sam shoved his hands into his jacket pockets. “Are you—”

Adam interrupted: “Sam, I know you mean well, but if you ask me one more time if I’m okay, I’m gonna start swinging.”

Sam finally cracked a real, albeit small, smile. “There he is.”
