blue lace agate: my muse's favorite form of communication (verbal, letters, texting, etc.)
Jae prefers face to face/verbal communication as there is little to be lost when you're able to viciously read one's expressions, body language, and varied personal quirks.
However, since meeting Unalaq, he does greatly enjoy sending handwritten letters back and forth. He tends to be more freeform and experimental in this form of correspondence- almost lyrical in word choice, symbolism, and flow.
He also ensures it's either a bunch of random information only Unalaq would appreciate or staggeringly fanciful. There's little need to be serious and employ actual ciphers to hide from his enemies when his letters are quite literally just stupid conversations between he and someone who holds his rarely given affections, even if said person happens to be a prominent political figure.
bloodstone: how my muse sees themself as part of the world at large
A necessary status, perhaps? He doesn't put much stock in ideas such as 'good' and 'evil', but does see the criminal underworld as a side of modern society that cannot truly be eradicated. Better then to control those avenues and maintain a certain standard of conduct and set a bar to consistently maintain, or else allow both sides to fall into chaos and corruption. Light needs darkness to shine, while darkness needs a certain amount of light to showcase its true depths.
charoite: who my muse looks up to
People who can see the big picture, those who are willing to adjust their personal beliefs and then build upon the foundations of their experiences in order to achieve something lasting and important that will influence the world. He greatly respects singular and unique individuals who put the overall wellfare of the masses as their top priority, rather than the individual and one person's limited breadth of understanding that oft leads to selfish choices.
fluorite: what my muse's room looks like
Organized chaos. His house's public spaces would be elegant and minimalist, but cozy and well-loved. His personal quarters hint at his mental state and how he groups things together- He tends to multitask and take MANY projects on at the same time, but he keeps these areas very separate and almost fussily filed (i.e., literature, drafting materials and references, supplies), while the rest of his living quarters are a bit... awful.
There are chairs with clothes draped over them, forgotten mugs of tea long since chilled in favor of pouring over a book, cat toys scattered across his desk and all manner of 'doom piles' that can be anything from various scattered pen nibs, boxes of different grades of graphite, or even mail haphazardly opened, half-read, then forgotten as he jumps from one thing to another clearly more important thing.
