 I returned! This time, I painted Hakim's drawing and, as I promised, I will tell his story now, remember that it is still a work in progress. I can make changes if I need to or if you have a good idea. Well, let's get to the point.

Hakim was part of an alternative universe that was in the creation phase, until then everything was fine, the difference in his AU was that the child who came before Frisk somehow went to Asgore, killing him and leaving the underground. When Toriel heard of this, because of her conversations with Sans, she immediately left the ruins and became the queen, changed the rules, she did't want to kill any children and because of that, she still goes back to the ruins every day to check if anyone has fallen , which eventually leads to Frisk. The creator of the AU was still making changes in what would  comes next, but for now everything was kinda the same. The AU was abandoned, the creator that was so excited just give up, they can't do something creative so they just forget about the AU eventually, what made all of their universe be something uncreative, irrelevant, no one even knows about they existence, their story was basically the same thing that the original,  but a lot more easier considering that no one fights Frisk, if they want to leave, they could, if they want to kill, they could. They do a lot of resets to know everything that could happen, Sans was the judge, and this is the only important thing that he does in this universe. All of this was really monotome, boring. One day, when Sans looked around he realized that the walls and the scenery were gliching, he was in a stage that he doesn't care for anything anymore so he just watch while the glich becomes bigger and bigger, it becamed so big that it was starting to consume everything, the monsters were in panic, his brother was at his sade screaming and asking things like "what is that? What should we do?" He just doens't knew how to answer, he starts to feel a afraid of whatever was happen too because of the general panic, and when he starts to look around again, trying to figure out who was doing that, he saw, he saw a black skeleton sitting in a roof, just smiling while he mades more things dessapear and glichs, he looks like he was enjoing all of that. When Sans noticed him he thinked about trying to fight him for protect his world...But, why would he save a world that will be reseted after his sacrifice? A world that was so monotome that even him was bored? A world that he was forced to see his brother, the only one that he really cared about, dying again and again? At least if everything was erased he won't have to suffer with the resets again, so he decided to just let that creep do what he wants to.  He watched while his world was destroyed, conforting Papyrus and trying to pass the last moments with him, but he was determined to save everyone, Sans was trying to follow him but he knew that he couldn't do that, while he runs he lost Paps sight and start looking for him in the middle of the caos. The things were bad, monsters running for every side that wasn't destroyed yet, Sans was lost in the crowd and when he finally comes out he sees him again, the same skeleton, but now he was leaving from some kind of portal, he couldn't tell what exactly was that, but his body moved by himself and followed him. He felt a lot of power inside that thing, he couldn't handle that, collapising in the moment that the "shock" hited him. When he waked up he was in a big "white" place, he wasn't sure about where he was, but he realized that a discussion was happening, the skeleton that he follows was there, he doesn't looked happy, and in front of him other skeleton was standing, he was holding a really big brush, Sans was confuse at this time, but when he listen to what they are saying he get's it, they were discussing about him.  He get up, what call the attention of the others two, the one with the brush was the first to come closer, asking if he was ok, it took a long time, but they finally get to a deal: His universe was already destroyed so he doesn't have a place to go back, the black skeleton, that he descovered that are called Error, wanted to erase him just like the rest of his friends, but the one with the brush, that are called Ink, was defending him, saying that it was rare to happen something like this, and that they should give him a chance, afterall, he even followed Error through the portal, being the only one alive from that AU. Error didn't like the way it have gone all of this, but Ink seemed very  decided to keep that Sans alive so he just give up, he was actually lucky for Ink  didn't bother him about the whole AU that he just destroyed. After that, Sans followed Ink throught the nothing, they talked a little and so they decided to give Sans a new look, because he was too "normal", this was actually kind of fun, but after that they have to find someting to Sans to do, and give him another name, because, well, have a lot of Sans in the AUs. That was a problem, they didn't know a answer for these tasks and they weren't capable of doing that at this moment.  A while has passed, Sans now have learned how to pass from AU to AU, watching them from afar, and without noticing he starts to judge the AUs, judging which ones he considered important and which ones not, helping Ink on the task to protect the AUs that he juldge deserving and telling Error when he find out some that he considers irrelevant. He becomes what you can call a true neutral, he doesn't really care for the AUs, but he reconize that some of them are important,  he is like the court of the void, a judge that can or not make a difference, and when Ink realized this, they finally could think of a new name for him, Hakim, that means judge, philosopher, the one who decide. He isn't so strong like Ink or Error, but no doubt that he became a lot more strong than he was before, he even can make both of his eyes glows and take a really long time to fell tired. Welp, this took a long time, i wasn’t expecting it to take so long lol. But remember everyone, this still a work in progress and i will be happy to listen to your opinions! Where the names came from

aka, I’m working on more content, but this was easy and I wanted to put something out. 

Alright so the names. Some of these took me a lot longer and a lot more stress to figure out than I intended, but I'm mostly happy with them. Anyway I said I'd explain my reasoning so here we are. Not gonna lie though, a good chunk of them just “fit” and stuck in my head so there is not deeper meaning or justification.

Undertale Sans – Ace. This one stumped for awhile. I'd been looking for something to call back to his lazy reputation, but everything  found sounded off. Then I looked for names to suit his leadership role. I considered Boss for a second but that's a common name for UF!Papyrus and I didn't want to have that connection. Ace was a single syllable, and kinda has that top of the pile, number one connotation, so that's what I went with.

Undertale Papyrus – Lief. I chose this over the alternate spelling Lieve. Its a word I found in a cowboy slang guide, meaning “willingly/gladly”. I liked how it connected to his open and helpful nature. Even as an outlaw, he really just wants to help people and get along. He understands the life they live, and accepts it fully, but doesn't think that means he can't also be a good person.

Underfell Sans – Chisel. A friend actually recommended this. I was having a hard time choosing and sent her the bio I had, as well as the list of assorted names I was considered in general. It isn't quite a mechanical term but it does call to mind working with ones hands.

Underfell Papyrus – Spur. The one that started it all. His name came from the visual that hit me when I couldn't sleep, and refused to leave me. (He steps in all confident in his black leather and spurs only for the cutie to tug him down by his bolo tie and put him in his place)

Underswap Sans – Scout. I originally called him Bandit, which felt close, but off. Then Scout hit me and I ran with it.

Underswap Papyrus – Piper. A nod to his smoking habits. Nothing much else to it.

Swapfell(Red) Sans – Whip. This one, honestly just popped into my head and I was like, “aight”.

Swapfell(Red) Papyrus – Coyote. Wanted to stick with the canine theme for him, and I liked the way it sounded better than Jackal.

Horrortale Sans – Tender/Ten. From his “job” in the camp. He tends to any animals/plants they have.

Horrortale Papyrus – Cook. Same hat as his bro. He's camp cook, so he gets called Cook.

Swapfell(Purple) Sans – Doc. This boi. Oof. He was the last one named, and was another the friend who helped name Chisel helped with. He was also the last one to get a defined role. It came down to either Doc or Biz. There was a big ol' rant that led up to us settling on Doc. I can share that sometime if you'd like.

Swapfell(Purple) Papyrus – Flint. This one gave me some trouble too. There are a lot of slang terms for money from that era but none of them sat right to me. Then I came upon the term “skin-flint” which is used to refer to someone who is particularly stingy or frugal with their money. Cut it down to just Flint, and I was happy with it.

Fellswap Gold Sans – Haze. Another I got help with. When I sent her the list she pointed to this as a nod to the way he manipulates people. Hiding his true self. I liked it well enough so it stuck.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus – Cirrus. When we named Haze, I mentioned that their “canon” names are Wine and Coffee. She said “those are both drinks, so give them both weather names”. It came down to Cirrus or Stratus. Wispy clouds or gray clouds. Ultimately I liked the shortened Cir, better than Strat.

Underlust Sans – Mab. And Underlust Papyrus – Calico. These two were basically named together. Mab and Calico Queen are both terms used in the old west for prostitutes (according to the slang guide I was using, no promises on authenticity. I'm trusting the internet here, which is questionable at best). Considering their origin, and one of their favored covers, it fit. They were among the easiest to name.

Also ; there is now a chance Mab will be renamed to Shine. This was suggested by a wonderful Nonny, and the idea has started to run off on me. I’ll prolly post my whole thought process on that later today for everybody to weigh in on. 

**After some flip-flopping Mab has been renamed and is now know as Shine henceforth.

Also Also ; idk if anyone noticed my note on “Funkify” but probably not. Now, a quick qualifier, I will not likely include any of the Outcode Skelies in this (I say that now...), despite my adoration of them, there’s already a lot happening. But. 4am thoughts did what 4am thoughts does and pointed out that Funkify is the perfectly worst best name to give CowTale Fresh. Nobody let me do this, please.

Well... Sans' glowing eye and his design in smash bro reminded me of Black Rock Shooter. So in case this hasn't been done yet I made the skelebros as Strength and black Rock Shooter. Papyrus looks so innocent in this outfit

Um sorry if this has been asked before but I don't know who "au Sans" is. Like what au is he from?? I like him but idk what you mean by au. I thought you played a regular Sans?? Sorry if this is dumb. Can anyone roleplay with him?

Hey there, nonnie! ^^ 

It’s not dumb at all! You’re not wrong, this blog is mainly focused on “regular” classic Sans. AU!Sans was created for a thread between myself and @lettersfromthepit , where we essentially wanted a storyline that could get as dark and twisted as the story wanted to. Partly for some good ol’ vent writing, and partly because sometimes it’s just a nice change of pace! 

So, he’s not a part of any “official” Undertale AU, so to speak. AU!Sans does have a little bio in my “Extras” section, but the basic rundown is this: he’s the same Sans we all know and love, but placed in a Universe where the Resets never got resolved. 

He’s lived through about 10 more years worth of Resets than Main!Sans, and has experienced a lot of ups and downs during that time. See, nothing is ever set in stone when it comes to timelines; the slightest shift in choices can result in changes. 

So sometimes, based on choices other people make, life on the surface is normal. Peaceful enough. Not so shabby. Humans adjust to the idea of monsters with the help of sensible minded leaders, and while some will always sneer and want them gone, it’s not socially acceptable (and in the better timelines, not legal) to act on those feelings.

In other timelines, life on the surface is a horrible experience of prejudice and hate. He’s seen houses burned with families inside, monsters killed, he himself has experienced unwarranted police brutality in multiple lifetimes (they have some sort of odd obsession with knocking him down a peg or two), because humans do not want monsters anywhere near them.   

In the current threads you see with him, Sans and Kailee met in a mental ward that was essentially a cover-up for a bit of experimental testing being done on the down-low. While neither of them were actually insane for the reasons the hospital stated, it’s interesting to note that Sans does actually have delusions and regularly “hears” Gaster speaking to him (he’s not. It is actually in Sans head).  

The two experienced physical and mental trauma together during that time, which bonded them in a sense, and for awhile they acted as a support system of sorts to each other. Kailee, through a series of events, even experiences Resets, giving Sans someone who can truly relate to living in a constant loop. 

As time went on, though, the relationship has become twisted. A new timeline occurred where Sans and Kailee were set on different paths once again. Sans went the route he normally went; wait to see what sort of timeline it would be, make it to the surface, be with Tori if applicable, ect. Essentially just following steps at this point. 

But he and Kailee ended up meeting once again, both remembering what had happened in the previous timelines, and one thing led to another… 

and, well, based from the threads, you know what happens. 

TLDR: AU!Sans is an “older” Sans who’s an awful person with a shitty life and acts out because of it. He gets sexually/emotionally involved with AU!Kailee who is also a shitty person, and everything is horrible and no one is having a good time. Paps and Tori are the only nice things and they’re consistently being lied to. Oops.

As for roleplaying with him: maybe? I’ve had a couple of people interested, but I want to make sure it’s understood that this isn’t a Underfell!Sans type scenario where he’s hiding a soft heart under a tough exterior. He is not mentally well. He will abuse and manipulate and dominate to get what he wants. As of right now, he’s the worst person; whether or not he can change with effort is still up to debate.
