THE RED DOT INCIDENT AU -
Characters:
Jester: The one calling the shots and running the show. He’s dead serious and protective of the circus, but he sees Harlequin as a weak link. He’s not a bully, but he’s ice-cold, giving constant ultimatums: "Focus, or you're out." He tries to protect Harlequin from the external threat (the red dot), but he’s torn between believing there’s a real killer or if Harlequin is just losing his mind. Jester’s pressure is Harlequin’s biggest weight. (What a wonderful yet shitty Mommy, mama— 🫦)
Pierrot: He absolutely loathes Harlequin due to the past drama with Columbina. He won’t lift a finger to help when Harlequin freezes up seeing his sister’s ghost; instead, he watches from the shadows, enjoying the sight of Harlequin falling apart. To him, PrettyPoison’s death is just Harlequin’s "karma." (Ugh, the enemies to lovers vibe 🫡)
Hatsuki: Harlequin’s boyfriend and his only safe place in this nightmare. He’s the one who stays by his side after every disastrous show, comforting him and trying to convince him that everything will be okay. He hates seeing Harlequin suffer and tries his best to keep him grounded when the hallucinations and the fear of the "red dot" become too much. (The only one he can truly trust... right? ♡)
Ticket Taker: He’s Jester’s loyal shadow. He knows more than he lets on about the mysterious intruder stalking the circus, but he only speaks in cryptic warnings to mess with Harlequin’s head: "Better make sure the dot doesn't land on your forehead today." (Upsie, dopsie—)
Doctor: A total sadist. He uses Jester’s wish to "fix" Harlequin as an excuse for his twisted experiments. He provides "medication" that actually makes the PrettyPoison visions more aggressive and vivid. Jester thinks he’s helping, but the Doctor just wants to watch Harlequin’s mental collapse firsthand. (This man seriously needs help, omg—)
