I met Bongo for the first time today and will probably never see him again. He was originally sold at a horse auction and the owners could not properly deal with him. They called him "psycho" due to their lack of understanding. Fortunately, Bongo found a new home and the new caregiver was able to work with him, establishing trust and boundaries. Goosebumps chase each other up and down my arms when I finally get to this color and this moment in a canvas. The color that can be describe as lacking all colors, but does it truly? It puts color to words such as purity, virginity and peace. It is often used to describe things holy such as heaven, celestial and spirits. For me this color offers potential, a blank slate, it can become any color that I wish. The color white brings life into all of my canvases, it is the soul. Piper and my least favorite places to ride are in tight narrow spaces, deep within the trees, where you can’t see the horizon, rubbed and grazed by branches, we make our way though the passage. However, today I felt it was so important that we go...it’s a knot that needed to be untied and a freedom found once I felt I let it go. Forward...that was what was released, it was a feeling, a word that had a rope tied around it for so long and today I felt it fall away. Bound by fear, bound by doubt, bound by the unknown, bound by small spaces...what is the worst that can happen?
