Every time I turn around, Tumblr has found a new way to be hostile toward its user base. Why the fuck are there audio ads auto playing on my dash??? Why can't I mute them??

This shit is pissing me off. The auto playing audio adds. The photos, fucking Tumblr live snooze.

The adds are what is pushing me over the edge. I cannot stand random noises, I'm always scared to scroll Tumblr in public now and my case makes it hard to turn the sound up and down, and I hate sudden loud noises.

Fuck this. I've been using it for years, it's the main way I look at Tumblr, this is bullshit and it's not worth it anymore.

So I'm gonna be using Tumblr less now. I only really make original posts on my laptop anyway so won't be missing out on that, but alot less reblogs.

If these intrusive-as-fuck invisible audio ads continue, I will go one step further than immediately closing the Tumblr app. I will uninstall your app from my phone.

Is anyone else having such a bad time with tumblr mobile now? Like I hear an ad that I haven't even gotten to yet and some fucking solitare Vegas ass card mobile game ad forcibly opens up the appstore to put the install page over 2/3 of my screen. It's like tumblr is fucking forcing you to pay for ad free, because of course they are. It's so jarring and you can't mute the sound and I hate it.

Look, @staff, i've been with this site through thick and thin for YEARS. I never had the intention of leaving this site as surely as I do today.

Audio ads on mobile are the absolute worst thing I've ever had to experience on this site.

They launch me into a panic like a jumpscare video and almost broke the single most expensive piece of technology I own.

They are intrusive.

They are invasive.

They are LOUD.

If there was a way to mute them permanently, it would be fine, but by the time i can shut off the sound when they pop up, the first loud bit has already stopped my heart.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that I will never buy anything from a commercial like that.

Please give us the option to mute these ads via a setting so they stop freaking me out.

Literally I just tried turning off auto play, even on wifi (that setting that's supposed to save you data or whatever by asking before playing gifs or videos) and the ads with audio STILL play!!! No!!
