Stupid idea, but I just wanna rant about the various audio creators I listen too and who I love. Just mindlessly yap about what I like or dislike about their works and what i personally think they can do better or just expresses non stop of how much they’ve improved and how great their work is.

Will I do it........probably not because i feel like nowadays people end up taking whatever feedback or criticism and it doesn't matter if it negative or positive and will spin it into something entirely different.

Because they end up feeling like its an attack on not only on the creator but on them and all of sudden we gotta go after this poor person who wasn't being an douch bag, all because they decided to try and voice out what they think a creator can do to improve their work and how to do better next time.

Aside from the fact the majority of them are on this platform already makes me nervous, but I'm straight up petrified as to them in general because I all look up to them in very different ways.

K I'm the fan who runs in the opposite direction within a flash if I end up bumping into my favorite song artist. Nonetheless I've had many conventions incidents were I've just dipped out of voice actors lines when I'm seconds away from meeting them because the anxiety has become too much to even handle and I'm not looking to become a fool in front of someone I think is pretty cool and I've listened to from my childhood to adulthood.

I like to be the not acknowledge fan, k this my little corner and they leave me alone, while I give them my support.

PSA for podcast and audio drama creators:

If you publish a new episode of your show and it never shows up on Spotify, *do not panic*.

If you're using any kind of background music, it might've gotten flagged by their copyrighted content scanner. If it has, they do not notify you directly about it. Instead, they will notify your podcast hosting platform (i.e. Buzzsprout, Acast, Podbean, etc.)

If your new episode doesn't show up on Spotify within an hour or two (as it normally does), here's what you should do:

Create a video of your podcast and upload it privately to YouTube.

Check the 'Restrictions' column of the Content page in YouTube Studio. If the video you uploaded has 'Copyright' in this column, something was flagged and this is the problem. (In my experience, YouTube and Spotify's scanners are aligned).

Hover over where it says 'Copyright' and click the 'See Details' button. This will tell you what got flagged.

Confirm whether this content was legitimately flagged or not. If it was (meaning you can't prove that you have rights to use the music), it's time to replace the track and reupload your episode. (You'll still want to do the following steps after you do that). If wasn't, it's time to document why the flagging was in error. In Metropolis' case, we use a lot of pre-1924 music that is in the public domain per Title II of the US Music Modernization Act of 2018. But rights holders are notorious for not removing things that have aged into the public domain from their claims list. That means we have clear rights to use the music (as does anybody: again, public domain!), but we still have to go through the appeals process.

Contact your hosting provider to get the notice email from Spotify Content Protection. You need to ask their support team if they've received an email for your show from Spotify with a Subject line of "Possibly Infringing - Notification Warning - Claim xxx - ref:_xxx". It usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour for them to receive that notification from when the episode was uploaded. Within the email, there's a unique link to appeal the decision. Note that you only get five days to appeal - procrastination is definitely not your friend here!

Use the Appeal Link from the Email to file an Appeal Notice If you click the link, it will take you to a form to appeal the decision not to post the episode. This is where you need to present your case by either that you've replaced the music in question, or that you have a right to use it. If it's the latter - make sure you present the case as thoroughly and completely as possible (with links and references). (You'll also want to confirm that the track that YouTube spotted is the one that Spotify flagged.)

From my experience, Spotify will usually respond 24-36 hours.

If you took the right steps, it'll usually be a short note that they've published the episode and you're in the clear.

I was cleaning my room while catching up on audio series I had fallen behind on. As much as I love Tristan and would've loved to see where his story would've gone, I honestly think Saqu made the right call, and the way he wrapped up the story was beautiful as always.

However, in my opinion, I think the reason Tristan fell through isn't that he's faceless or the trope; I believe it has to do with the fact that he got introduced a bit too late. And before someone tries mentioning Kayson’s farewell was a year ago, Tristan was mentioned about five years ago. On top of it, he wasn’t really a recurring person either at the time of Andrew’s and Kayson’s story; he was more of a very brief obstacle/push for both of them in driving the story, that was it. 

And I’ll be real, I completely forgot he even existed. I thought he was a completely different person with no real link to the existing or wrapped-up stories until I was in the comment section and people were mentioning Andrew and Kayson, and it clicked in my head that, oh, this is the dude that I guessed got used sorta..… (ᵕ—ᗜ—) 

Here’s another reason I think as to why he possibly fell through.

But first  Imma tell you what my psychology professor tells the class every day, it's her opening sentence for each lecture, and it's drilled into my head. Are you ready? 

The brain likes patterns.

It's why people do things a certain way, it's why people will repeat the very same question at Q&A con panels, classes/work, why certain book genres are more popular than others, and why addictions happen. And it's why people will have freakouts if something is different or if someone interrupts/changes a person's flow in doing something, or tries a completely different genre, because to the brain, this is new, and new is hard to adjust to, especially if they have to get used to it. 

There’s also no denying that Saqu has tropes that he uses frequently, aside from the fact that he does a very good job of making sure that they don’t feel boring and repetitive, and all his stories have their unique touch to them. It’s the fact that because he’s using the same tropes people are used to coming from him, they’re going to hit off because they have an idea of what to expect, and that's comforting. 

It's also why creators will receive mixed reactions from the crowd from a “change” in content, as while one half may be excited and supportive, their brain is more so a bit more open to this idea, but would also like it for a bit of the same routine to stick while they adjust. Then you have another half of the crowd, where they are like, absolutely the fuck not, no, just stay the way the way you are now, and it's because their brain has gotten so used to this routine and the idea of a change is unnerving even if they are open to the change, knowing what to expect from a creator is more comforting to them than not knowing.

Around 2023 or 2024, a friend had recommended me Obsidian Lantern, however, what she failed to tell me was that he uses a certian creator FREQUENTLY in his series.

Because the creator Obi uses is the very first creator i had ever listened to and subscribe to when I first go into these audio rp stories which was like early 2020s to covid era.

Not to mention I'm a nutjob who doesn't read the description title or the full length of the video title. So the first time I had ever heard him was in Obi's merfolk, and he voices Serafin, to which I immediately knew who he was voiced by, and oh, cool, he's in here. And I didn't start to feel like I was going crazy until I had gotten to the heart, which was either the 6th or 5th series I was listening to, from Obi, where I was like oki there's no way it's him again.

So I started trying to convince myself that it had to be a completely different person whom I was mistaken for being him. Because I have a history of mistaking vas for being a certain person, only to be wrong and them to be completely separate people. So I was like yea that's it, it's someone else entirely different who just so happens to sound exactly like him.....until I went back and began going through the description boxes because I could not take it anymore.

Unsurprisingly, the same name kept popping up in every single one of them, Kabuyama or i guess, now Kabuyama Va, because YouTube nuked the crap out of him randomly one day.

Honestly, I don't blame the man because Kabuyama is a rather talented man with an impressive vocal range and never fails to give it his all in his roles. But man, was I going crazy, espically when I thought I finally escaped when I came around to his vampire and Gator series, NOPE was completely wrong. （´∇｀''）

Ah, well, at least it's how I discovered Mage Bunkshelf and my collection grew....I still have a lot of catch-up to do, I'm so behind on so many .·°՞(っ-ᯅ-ς)՞°·.
